  1. Yes it does, Those images are from a blog summary block. The blog page itself is most likely in the unlinked section of the site. and those look like blog summary items and the text gets aligned in the blog excerpt under the options panel in the blog post settings. I do the same thing on my site, see it here:https://myrandomviews.com/blogsummary Scroll down a bit and you will see the posts. And here as well: https://myrandomviews.com/blog/lessons
  2. Auto play is set by the video hosting service if available, it isn't a Squarespace setting. This support guide explains all about embedded videos in Squarespace, all templates behave the same. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002068368-Autoplaying-videos
  3. I am a bit uncertain of what you are asking. If you are using a blog summary block, text alignment follows the way the excerpt is aligned and that is done in the blog post excerpt block itself. The code you posted would be for the summary block item not for the actual blog post excerpt. To change justificaion for one post excerpt in 7.1 go to the blog page, click the three little dots next to the post thumbnail, click settings, then options, then the text icon (next to P2) then choose left, center, or right.
  4. Sometimes this error takes place when signed in and and in configuration/design, but does not when the site is viewed as a visitor.
  5. Is Google's opinion the only one to consider? https://siipo.la/blog/is-webp-really-better-than-jpeg
  6. I post my blog posts on my personal facebook page as well as linking my FB page on my Squarespace site as well. For my business sites, I have links to a business page and group page on Facebook to those sites and the other way around. It all works together. https://myrandomviews.com/
  7. I am a member of quite a few online forums, and Facebook groups. I post links to my site in those groups and those links take various forms. Click Thru images, blog segments, and links in signatures and profiles. Of course I have links to my site on the sites I build for others.
  8. If you make the proper image of your icon then you can use this method to put it in the bottom right, this will take viewers to the top of the page as opposed to the home page but that wouldn't be bad would it? https://www.will-myers.com/articles/building-a-back-to-top-button-in-squarespace
  9. Try changing background/theme color. Some will will reduce the background image opacity. The gray seems to allow the images to be seen the most.
  10. Nicely laid out site, good flow, like walls in an art gallery. Maybe a bit of an enhancement would make the site pop a bit more? Make certain images stand out? Try using a drop shadow just to see what it does, you may like the result, if not just remove the code. past this into custom css: .image-block { filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666); }
  11. This is the rss feed I use. https://follow.it/ Free and works great with my Squarespace blog. I have a couple of Follow My Stories buttons on my site, which take you here: https://follow.it/my-random-views?action=followPub
  12. I will check it out. I didn't get an error, but I did get a white screen after logging in and submitting my comments. . I was expecting a pop up to say your commerts are awaiting moderation. Looks like a code problem. Something is keeping the commets log on screen from coming up.
  13. A slug is required but it doesn't have to be the word "home" make it anything you want, but it cannot be left blank, but this does not make a duplicate page, not really, just two "addresses" for the same page. There is a very important distinction there.
  14. Custom Domains have a registration fee, that renews every year on date of purchase. After an inital two week trial, the website has its own fee as well. Squarespace has different billing plans, monthly and annually, and all are based on what you want the site to do, for personal things like a blog or for business, selling products and needing specialized coding capabilities. I suggest if you have more questions, post them here in the Getting Started with Squarespace section of this forum on its own thread. We will be glad to provide you with help. https://www.squarespace.com/pricing
  15. Set another page as homepage temporarily, then rename the page slug. At that point the orginal slug wlll cause a 404 error which can be redirected. Then Set the page with the new slug as homepage
  16. <style> /* Remove Header Footer */ header, footer {display:none;} </style> Put the above code in advanced header for the one page. A newsletter block can still be used
  17. There is nothing in that regard as of yet. What would you like that plug in to allow you to do?
  18. If there were not it would end up taking a lot of time to search, and then that question would come up. Why does search take so Looooong?
  19. I have been experimening with this too. I can't make it work because as soon as you select a category and click it, you navigate away from the archive block, and it is no longer on the page, so in effect it is no longer active. I think it becomes more "last visited" as opposed to active. With that in mind maybe a coder can target it.
  20. You are basically asking about a mega menu. Can't be done by default, but can be done with code, but will not work on mobile, bear that in mind. This older thread has the same question and links to two sites, one is a plug in that you can buy and one that has instructions to make a mega menu.
  21. If file management allows the images to be adaptable to whatever screen res, aspect ratio, of the device they are being viewed on, then I would certainly be in favor of it. It would be great for SS to provide that one day. In the meantime I have my own methods to deal with my images "library" which works well for me.
  22. Enter edit mode go to pages, select your blog page, select specific blog post by clicking the title or thumbnail in the panel, not the three dots which opens the settings. Once you click the title the blog post opens on the right. Click edit up on the top left corner of the page. Then click the title of your post. You will see a vertical line. Then you can type, back space to delete. Highlight and erase, whatever you need to do.
  23. There are two templates that do this by default one is Momemtum. https://momentum-demo.squarespace.com/ The other is Forte. Gallery sections in 7.1 can be set for "slideshow-reel" which is a horizonal scroll. The images can be adjusted for full bleed, full and inset. The image height can be changed also.
  24. It it is a gallery page slideshow, by default no, not for both. The tile shows up on hover over the thumbnail. The description does not show up at all even in lightbox. If in a gallery block, then both can show up in a slideshow. This code however will make an image description, image on a gallery page, show up in lightbox.
  25. You didn't post what template you are using, or allow us to view your site so we have to guess to provide you with possible solutions. Some 7.0 templates have a sidebar nav as a style option, some like Wells, the sidebar is there by default. If you are using 7.1 that will take some code, a plugin, to make a sidebar menu and you will need a business plan to do that. If you are still in a trial period I think using wells is your best option: https://wells-demo.squarespace.com/ This template has the sidebar navigation option as well. It is not set that way in the demo but it is a one click option basically. https://five-demo.squarespace.com/
