  1. Cut and paste blog content from one site to the other. That is the really the only way. Some, have tried a wordpress export-import option but I can't tell you how sucessful that has been. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814028?platform=v6&websiteId=5d1263f4c6594f00012aea2d
  2. Well, considering you have approximately four seconds to grab a viewer's attention, then yes above the fold is important, and so is the cover over the fold, something that will make them turn the page. my random views
  3. You get a refund if you cancel a site within two weeks of paying to activate it. That's it. So a refund might not happen if you switch before November's renewal. Website refund policy Standard plans We automatically issue a full refund when you cancel an annual website subscription within the subscription’s first 14 days. Otherwise, your website is set to auto-renew, and we follow these refund policies: We don't offer refunds for annual plans after 14 days following the first payment. We don't offer refunds for monthly plans. We don't offer refunds for renewal p
  4. That worked terrifically well. Thank you Dan! I did modify it just a bit.
  5. Site URL: https://www.myrandomviews.com/ My Custom CSS skills are coming up short. I have tried to write code to give image thumbnails in an Avenue index page a nice drop shadow, but I have had no sucess so far. I did mange to make them disappear once, but I didn't really care much for that effect. Any of my coding expert friends here that can help me out? Thanks in advance. The page is titled pictures. https://myrandomviews.com/views-images
  6. If using chrome, try going to the site from an incognito window, this is most likly related to being logged into your account while viewing your site.
  7. I think it must be linked in your browser cache, I can't make the build in domain show up no matter what I do to try to make it happen.
  8. Is there a particular page where this happens? It always had your custom domain in the address bar everywhere I looked.
  9. 7.1 may seem like a death move only if you believe you have no choice but to use it. But that is not the case. I still use 7.0 because I like it better than 7.1, simple as that. I don't judge 7.1, which is one template, as good or bad. It is just that 7.0 with its multiple template families including Brine, which in the opinion of many is the best group of template designs anywhere, offers more to me than 7.1. So I stick with it. I have played with 7.1 so that I can be of assistance to those who want to use it, particularly new first time builders, which 7.1 seems to be easier for them to bui
  10. Custom fonts don' work using site styles. You have to use CSS code to set H1, H2, and paragraphs either the same font or individualy and there are other tweaks you can do as well. https://www.kayleighnoele.com/blog/how-to-upload-a-custom-font-to-squarespace
  11. Only if the second domain is handled by a third party such as Tucows , then you set that domain for url forwarding to the page you want , you would not point it to the Squarespace site or transfer it.
  12. I assume you are asking about building your own site on Squarespace and keeping the same domain that your Wordpress site uses?
  13. This information may be helpful to you, there is a section on selling fonts thru your own website: https://ivetriedthat.com/how-to-sell-your-font/
  14. Change link color? Font and size? Remove underline? Some are done thru design site styles others need code. The best thing to do is just post how you want to change things on your site.
  15. The jobs page is not in your index page like the other pages. You simply need to drag it into the index/home page. Make sure it connects to the vertical line on the left like the other pages. Once the page is in the righ place a # sign will show up in the address bar when viewing that page.
  16. Yes it is possible: Point a subdomain to a different Squarespace site When you point a subdomain from one Squarespace site to another, Squarespace handles it like a third-party domain. This means you’ll use DNS records to connect it to the second site. Start with the site you’re pointing from. Open Advanced DNS settings for the root domain that you’ll add the subdomain to. From the Add Presets menu, select Subdomain. Enter the new subdomain name, such as blog or store, then click Add. Go to the second site where the subdomain will point. In the Domains panel, clic
  17. It takes time for deleted content to drop off search engines. You could consider redirecting it to your home page, or any other active page on your site, in settings. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815308-URL-redirects
  18. As a blogger my site has a title, author's name, "table" of contents. My about page is the back page of my website like the back page of a book jacket cover. It gives my viewers more personal information about me. Knowing me might compel them to read more of my stories. I think the about pages I have built for others do the same thing, they add to the story the site is telling, with words images or both.
  19. This code works in a code or markdown block in a footer you can change the wordage of course: <input type="button" value="Go Back From Whence You Came!" onclick="history.back(-1)" />
  20. Remove the squarespace domain from the links. Replace it with your custom domain.
  21. Easiest way is to sacrifice the desktop carousel and use a wall or a grid..
  22. Every new SS site build comes with a two week trial. No upfront credit card needed. After two weeks you would need to make a payment but the site would still not be live until you move your domain. Nothing takes place to the original site at all, it still operates until the domain is repointed or transferred to Squarespace.
  23. You can add a section to a portfolio page which is also the home page, add a content link block inside that section, choose your blog as the content. The blog title will be in the box. You will need to adjust the text in that block with site styles to make the font bigger. This also makes it take one click to access the blog not two. I think this much simpler than my post above using a summary block, which you may still like to use.
