  1. Site URL: https://www.vancouverislandwhalewatch.com/recent-sightings Hello! I am trying to make my Archive Dropdown match my search bar in size on my blog - cannot drag and resize the block, it's just coming up with white space on the right side. It matches nicely on Mobile but not on Desktop. I'd also like to make the archive dropdown list show 4 columns instead of one giant long column on the desktop version. Thank you! Desktop preview in Editing mode - spacer blocks on either side of Search and Archive blocks: Mobile preview:
  2. Site URL: https://www.compas.org/artists Hello, We're an arts education provider and use our web store as a catalog of hirable artists. We use an archive block at the top of the page to allow users to sort the "products" by category, but in the last 24 hours, we've had some weird issues with the archive block. On the backend editor, the block will sometimes show up as completely empty (see attached image), and on the front end, it will disappear completely. I was unable to get a screen capture of what the page looks like when the archive block is missing, but I've attached an image of what it should look like. Is this a known issue? Anything we can do about this? Thank you!
  3. Good afternoon everyone. I am looking for some help with a site I am building. I will be selling custom pieces of furniture and it would be hugely beneficial to have an archive of my sold products. So in essence, once an item sells it is removed from the sales page but displays in archive page where the item info, price and image/s are displayed. Is this at all possible? Thank you in advance for any help given
  4. Hello, this is my first forum discussion, so thanks for your patience.. I am looking for a solution in the archive block dept. I have over 100 tags in on a PRODUCT PAGE (store/commerce) and I need an ARCHIVE BLOCK that can display each products tags. These products are literary print issues with tags for all the writers in the issues. The ARCHIVE BLOCK functions as a search for any writer over time from 1982-2022 and therefore provides a convenient way to search and AUTHOR INDEX. unfortunately the archive blocks only list up to 50 names alphabetically and don't allow you to scroll further in the index list or a dropdown menu. Has anyone found a work around for this? I also can't duplicate a STORE page so putting a duplicate page with edited tag list in the non-navigation section can't work either. Thanks for any input.
  5. Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to animate or change the behaviour of an archive block so that when clicking the drop down, instead of the list items instantly appearing, the list drops down smoothly? Or just any way for it to look less harsh. Thank you!
  6. Site URL: https://stradegy0.squarespace.com site: https://stradegy0.squarespace.com pw: stradegy Disclaimer: I know next to absolute nothing about coding. A team I'm working with wants to add an archive of their newsletters to their homepage. This is the code that Mailchimp offers up: <style type="text/css"> <!-- .display_archive {font-family: arial, verdana; font-size: 12px;} .campaign {line-height: 125%; margin: 5px;} //--> </style> <script language="javascript" src="//stradegy.us20.list-manage.com/generate-js/?u=3e33660085a44f8d3ee5cdd16&fid=15068&show=10" type="text/javascript"></script> If you enter that into a code block absolutely nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Does it need to be in in some kind of <div> ? Thank you so much in advance for your help!
  7. Is there a way to prevent the dropdown menu (archive block) from pushing the below content down? I'd like for the below content to stay static with the menu going over top of the photos.
  8. Site URL: https://www.yoloyoli.art/work So I have some archive drop downs to sort my work, however, how do I allow the user to select multiple categories to view? For example, if someone wants to look at 2D Design work and Drawings, they would select both and all posts under those categories will show up. Being able to unselect too would be great. I visual example of this would be the drop downs on this website. I want mine to work exactly like those. Any ideas?
  9. I was excited to utilize the new videos page format to organize a client's video library, but when I attempted to add an archive block as an indexing feature, I noticed that I could not choose the videos page. Should we expect the archive block to eventually be able to integrate with videos page format or no?
  10. Site URL: https://processworkuk.squarespace.com/ Hi, I have added an Archive (as a dropdown) to filter certain sections of my website (e.g. Blogs, Team..). Is there a way to reset the filter without having to go back to the page again - currently it re-loads the page with the filtered options. Site: https://processworkuk.squarespace.com/ Password: ProcessworkUK2022 Thanks, Alex
  11. Site URL: http://www.carneliancooks.com I am looking for some help on customizing the sort order for an archive list. I am creating a food blog and am hoping to have a way for my users to sort the recipes by ingredient and season which are my categories. I am trying to figure out how to separate my categories for my types of cocktails. Right now, it's set into organizing them alphabetically. Is there is way to separate them? I have attempted to add another Archive block and have that grouped by Tag and having my tags be the seasons which does solve my problem temporarily. What I see being an issue is that I will need to use tags to create more Summary blocks when my recipes reach more than the 30-item max. I have included screenshots of my page for your reference. This first screenshot is an example of what I am looking for. Thank you so much!
  12. Site URL: https://www.portalaw.ca/who-we-help/openporta I've got a blog on portalaw.ca with a post set to link the post title to a source URL. That's working correctly on the blog main page itself -- see the OpenPorta Employment Law Clinic box toward the bottom of https://www.portalaw.ca/openporta However, I also have this blog embedded in another page using the Archive block, and in this instance the post title in the archive block is not forwarding to the external URL, but linking to the blog post. Yes, I can put the link on the blog post, but the idea is the route the user to the external source URL as quickly as possible... plus it seems weird to have inconsistent behavior! This is happening here on the OpenPorta Employment Law Clinic box: https://www.portalaw.ca/who-we-help/openporta I can't use URL mapping because the page exists and has to in order to appear in the blog. I would appreciate any workarounds or suggestions! Or if this is a bug, would love to know how to report that. Thank you, Susie Gardner Hop Studios
  13. Site URL: https://testsort.squarespace.com/store Hi, currently I only have sort by month, year, tags, author and category. How can I add "criteria" for sort? Can I sort by the description of my product for example dimension? Thank you Chan rch
  14. Site URL: https://www.cottoncashmerecathair.com/ I have discovered via search console that Google is indexing my archive pages, categories, and tags over individual blog posts, which means my site is not showing up in search results when it should be. How can I tell Google not to index those pages and instead index the blog posts? I read in other posts here that you can inject code, but how do I inject code for pages that aren't in my navigation? I also know about canonical links but they confuse me; is that something I do in search console? How does one go about setting those? Any insight/tips would be much appreciated!
  15. Site URL: https://yellow-pufferfish-93g7.squarespace.com/ I'm trying to add an animation hover to the list of links in my archive block. I just want the underline to go from right to left when the user hovers over a list item. I've tried some different code, but I can seem to figure out the class to put the code on. .archive-item-list { text-decoration: none; position: relative; } .archive-item-list a:after { content: ""; height: 2px; width: 0; position: absolute; background-color: black; left: 0; bottom: 0; transition: all 0.7s; } .archive-item-list a:hover:after { transition: all 0.2s; width: 100%; }
  16. Site URL: https://ilovecreatives.com/creative-directory The site I linked is an example of what I'm trying to do. I'm setting up a similar style of directory page in Squarespace and I'm trying to figure out how to do a location dropdown like they've done here. I used a CSS Viewer browser extension and it says that they've used an Archive block, which is what I initially tried, but there is no option for Location when I insert an Archive block. There are two other dropdowns, so I'm pretty sure they haven't just input locations as Categories or Tags, or if they did, they've found a way to filter the display so only certain categories or tags appear in certain dropdowns. Does anyone know how to do this? I have figured out the summary block workaround to display locations as a list, but that's not what I was hoping for. If anyone has any suggestions, I appreciate it!
  17. Site URL: http://www.sdcrimestoppers.org I’m working for a non-profit and need to link new blog posts to the home page. I have tried to research this and I’m lost on how to accomplish this. any tips would be appreciated
  18. Site URL: https://www.wearehkers.com/main-english Hello, is there a way to change the date format in my link from January 2020 to JAN 2020? or to 01/2020, whether it's through code injection or css? Edit: I've also reduced the column gap using css column-gap:20px but now it's not center aligned and even though column-count:auto is on it's not filling the width with more columns, what css am i missing to do that?
  19. Site URL: https://resources.utees.com/apparel-design-guide-1 Does anyone know a way to organize blog posts in Categories alphabetically as opposed to chronologically? Right now, we use a workaround where we manually change the publication date, but it would be ideal for us to just organize the posts alphabetically within each category.
  20. Hello, I am building a site that would like to have numerous images in an archive searchable by meta keywords. When I attempted to test build it, I found my only option for a search function the was the "news" page, rather than the archive page I had created. That archive page had a gallery (only one image uploaded with allowing keywords activated) for testing, but none of that showed up in my options either. In another question, I don't see the gallery listed under the "not linked" section either. Don't know if only having one image in it is the cause. Appreciate any help with this, thanks.
  21. Site URL: https://jordanforge.art/ Hello! I am converting my old site above to a 7.1 version and am hoping to add a multi-field filter to my overall library of paintings. I understand the Categories and Tags features built into Blogs, Shops, and Events, and how those are not applicable to Portfolio type pages. These seem like clunky workarounds to what I'm after, which should be a slightly more advanced version of the Archive page feature combined your run-of-the-mill gallery page. I am hoping to simply have a page of all my paintings where I can assign a few metadata fields to each, then a ribbon at the top of the page allowing viewers to drill down by fields such as size, year complete, subject matter, and color. Heather Day has achieved something like this on her page, screenshotted below. I am reluctant to pay $70 for Universal Filter without knowing if it can achieve what I'm after; but if that is the only solution, short of SquareSpace improving their functionality, then so be it. Extra points if it's possible to link directly to a pre-filtered directory!
  22. Site URL: https://aldricharchive.squarespace.com/ hi everyone, and in particular @tuanphan and @Agha_Waqas (the legends of this forum) I have a website which is an archive of text, files and images. I would like to be able to search EVERYTHING (all text on all visible and non visible pages) via a search box. I would like to type in a keyword and click search, then a page appear with the word highlighted/identified (if this is too much, just to bring up a page). I currently have button at the top right which I would like to be the search function (see screenshot) Is there a way to do this through standard functionality, or does this require some code? Thanks in advance Pete
  23. Hello, I'm looking to make an archive block full width, but I can't make it work. When I watch the website on mobile, it's working fine, but not on full screen. What code should I had ? Thanks a lot ! Website here : https://cathy-trial.squarespace.com/fiches-conseils psswd : bonbon
  24. Site URL: https://www.phlaff.org/festival/2021/film-guide Hi everyone, Is there a way to give users the option of 'resetting' the 'filter' when searching blog posts through tags in an archive block drop down? Right now, the page reloads with the selected posts with the following language: "Posts tagged xyz" Is there a way to 1) change this text, 2) add a 'reset' link so viewers can get back to unfiltered blog posts without using browser navigation, and 3) reduce the amount of space between the archive block and the "Posts tagged" line and the blog posts themselves? See screenshot for example. Thank you for your expertise!
