  1. Imported (uploaded) images are accessible in new image blocks from the Search For Image > Imported section. I've had my site for several years and it's gone through drastic revamps in that time. Now, the oldest images are still there, despite no longer being in use on any existent page. How do I delete these outdated imported images? I can't find any option for it even though it seems like something so straightforward should have a very simple answer. Thanks!
  2. I have designed my site and now ready to import product inventory. Is there a way to import "additional info" or does it have to be added to each product individually. I am asking because there is not a column for it on the "csv" template.
  3. Site URL: https://www.chasethesummit.com I'm trying to import my wordpress blog content into Squarespace. There's around 200 posts and all of them contain multiple attached images. For whatever reason the "regular" wordpress import tool didn't work for me so I opted to use the "advanced" tool by uploading my exported XML file from my wordpress installation. The file uploads, and then goes into a "processing" state for several hours until it ultimately stalls. The status bar fills up indicating the import is complete, but the status says "Scheduled" and stays this way forever. I tried reaching out to Customer Service in the live chat and they were no help at all just directing me to "help articles" that repeat the process I already did. My XML files are clean, the links work. What's going on here? Can anyone help me?
  4. So I got the importing worked out and I want to add a ton more products to a store. I exported a CSV, added another product as a test, and imported the new CSV and got the following error: "Missing column Add PRODUCT ID column" So I go to check the CSV and it's right there as the first column. I'm baffled by this one. How can I solve this? I have a ton more to add to my store.
  5. Hi There! I'm wanting to bulk import lots of blog posts from a Wordpress site, I had no trouble with the import for all posts. However, even after the import is successful, I'm unable to see where all the posts exist. I want to utilize them on my blog page. Appreciate any insight here, seems like a problem for many users, but I've not been able to find a solution and I would very much like to avoid the manual work. Thanks! 6. I am in the process of importing my products with the upload template CSV. I have all of my images hosted within our company Google drive, and have added the public share links to my CSV under "Hosted Image URLs." After importing, though, only a blank square with a grey diagonal slash is visible where an imported photo should be. My guess is this is because my URLs don't end in .jpeg, .png, etc. Is there a way to get a link to my images hosted in Drive so that I won't encounter this problem? Is there a different hosting service I should be using that will automatically generate a link with an image extension?
  7. Site URL: https://hyperboloid-sepia-82f5.squarespace.com/ Hello, I am working to import a Wordpress blog (only the posts) to a new Squarespace website (https://hyperboloid-sepia-82f5.squarespace.com/) and I have followed the instructions listed here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543957. Both times I chose the Advanced option and exported only the "posts" from the Wordpress backend and downloaded the .xml file. The first time I did all posts. The second time I did all posts since January 2019. Both times I got a "success" message as you can see in my screenshots below. However, these posts are nowhere to be found. From my understanding they should be in the unlinked pages area... however there is nothing there. I would really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!
  8. Hi. I'm totally new to Squarespace, a backend programmer thrust into this role by company needs. In brief: Our company has a website on Squarespace. I have a process on a remote server that periodically creates new images. I want to upload those images automatically (sftp or some other secure service) to the company website, over-writing any old images, and have the web page display the latest. I have no clue where to start. How do I upload files? Where do they live, once uploaded? How do I get the Squarespace block to pick up the latest image? I'm used to a Linux command prompt, so everything is opaque here... Can you point me to documentation, suggestions, or something to get me started? Thanks.
  9. I'm really lost for what to do here, and this is happening with several examples of email lists in csv format. I am trying to import a CSV of email signups that were people who came directly to a landing page and entered their information in order to receive ticket presale notifications. All of the emails are valid (I even recognize a handful of them) and are 100% voluntary signups of people who engage with our business. Additionally, there are a few I am importing from venues we work with. They are lists on which people opted into marketing communications. As for the quality of these email addresses, they MUST be real and valid and properly formatted - these are emails the customer used to receive order confirmations and tickets in order to attend an event. So in all of these cases, I get that error message, which is making me entirely regret migrating from MailChimp to SquareSpace for this part of our business. I get that spam and quality of email lists are a thing, I just can't think of a better example than voluntary signups by people who are clearly real individuals? I need a rather urgent resolution on this or else I will have to go back to MailChimp, so any help is appreciated!
  10. Hi there, Having fun with Squarespace 7.1 for the first time. Is there a way to generate a number of unique discount codes in batch? It is important for us to generate unique discount codes for our members. Creating them one by one is looooooooooong. So we're looking for a way to generate them in batches, and ideally export them from Squarespace for easier distribution. Alternatively, we're open to import coupons if this is also possible. Patrick
  11. We have a client who has a rather extensive blog on WordPress and wants to move her blogs to SS. We haven't done this yet and I'm trying to figure out how much work this is. She has about 1000 blogs which seems insane so we might want to cut them off to be the last 2 years worth of content. Can anyone weigh in on how much work is involved here to keep the same URL string, etc? and uploading images? Thank you!
  12. Greetings, I want to add additional photos to an existing gallery and from what I can tell this option doesn't exist. I go to my gallery block, hit edit. In here, one will notice several options. Content, Design at the top and Upload Media and Use Existing Gallery as selections. When I click Upload Media, one has two options. Either click Upload Images or click the plus (+) sign in the bottom right hand corner (which allows you to search through already uploaded images - which is helpful). When I click search, one has the three options above. Free, Premium and Imported. I click Imported. When one clicks on an image - it doesn't allow one to select MULTIPLE images to upload. It just immediately selects the one image you clicked to "add" however it will add the single image and replaces every single image you've had in the gallery. So the question remains, "HOW does one add images to an existing gallery without having to redo the damn gallery all over every time one needs to add additional photos?"
  13. Does anyone know of a programmatic way to remove entries from the "Files" list in the Link Editor? (7.0/Montauk) Sure, you can manually select "Delete" on each file, but that is so clumsy when you have a lot of junk files. And why would you have a lot of junk files? Because every time you import a product .csv file, apparently that filename gets added to the list of files in the Link Editor. Then if you later try to use the Link Editor to link to a static file you actually care about, you have to scroll thru all the .csv files you have ever imported. So, before I get started on setting up our new store (with products whose prices will be updated daily via .csv imports) I am wondering if there is a way to deal with Link Editor file clutter. Anyone have any suggestions? (Am I the only one who's ever had this problem? I am mystified as to why the product import .csv clutter up the list. You can't reuse them, you can't download them, and you can't tell how big they are or when they were uploaded. In fact, even failed import attempts add filenames to the Link Editor list. I contacted Customer Care about this a year ago and they said they'd look into it, but I just did a little test and found that the problem still persists.)
  14. Site URL: http://www.shapelyevents.com/shop Hello, please help! again. I am to switch my site from squarespace 7.0 to 7.1. In that I realize that I have to start from scratch. I'm starting with my store and i'm trying to get my inventory from one site to another using the csv sheet as recommended. I exported it from my current live squarespace store. I HAVE NOT EDITED IT. LEFT IT AS IS! When i try to import it on the new platform, 7.1, i'm getting an error message and nothing is changing. I would hat to have to manually add all these items. I dont understand why there's an error if I havent changed anything. Things to note: - I am still in my trial period. I haven't made the site live as yet being that I wanted to build it then launch it when I can swap it out with the current one. Is this a factor? because I'm also getting a pop up telling me that certain features are only available in a commerce plan but I would think I could be able to build out my store using the imported csv before I launch it. I've attached photos of my process and what I'm getting. Someone...anyone...please help.
  15. Hi everyone. I have a question about product importing on a new site. I have a client who is sitting on a bespoke CMS for his online business and has been left in the lurch by his previous developer. I've recommended he migrates to a better supported platform that can be managed and maintained by him or any Squarespace developer. However, he has 100's of products that would need to be migrated. I've managed to get in to the MySQL database where his products are listed and assume I can export that as a CSV. I also see that I can Import a CSV to an existing product page in Squarespace. If that product Page is blank, can I simply import the exported CSV. I'm assuming I would need to change the column headings of the exported CSV to match the Squarespace headings. But what if there were blank fields, such as SKU. If anyone has any advice on this or has experience of doing similar it would be great to hear from you. I appreciate I don't think images come over as part of any import do that may need to be manual. Thanks in advance.
  16. Hello guys, did someone had issue with imported products? When I want to add them in summary field they are named imported products. I have tried to see where I can change that name. I see that those products are in the folder /imported-products/ and when I can't change that. Thank you
  17. Hi I'm trying to do batch editing of my inventory but I can't import anything. "The file product_import-v1.csv does not appear to be a supported file." No matter what I do, I get the same error. I use OpenOffice Calc to edit it so I thought maybe it's modifying the file in some way that makes it invalid, but I've ruled that out because I can't even import the sample csv template immediately after downloading it. Like, I click "download csv template" then click "upload squarespace csv" and put the same file back in and it gives me the error.
  18. It's been a while since I had a US client with Commerce needs. Do folks know if it's still the case that you have to manually set up each and every single state and local tax rate? No ability to bulk upload, and no integration with some kind of central spreadsheet that sets it up for you? I heard some murmurings that TaxJar or another extension would do this but I can't seem to see any info about that.
  19. My site is being developed but I ran into a problem. I was having issues with the breadcrumbs going to the wrong page so I exported my product (csv) cleared it out and attempted to import them. I downloaded the CSV template and used that (which was identical to the export too BTW) I am getting an error Saying no PRODUCT ID so Question-- can anyone help???

  21. I was wondering if anyone can share some ideas on how to successfully migrate a large website from Squarespace to WordPress? Steps I've already taken. I've downloaded the XML file from Squarespace I've installed the WordPress Importer Plugin I've imported the XML file into my local dev WordPress install I've installed the Import External Images Plugin The issue I'm having is that the WordPress Importer Plugin fails to download some images from the XML file. Also the Import External Images Plugin is not able to recognize some of the images from the Squarespace XML file. The pictures show but are hotlinked to Squarespace which means once I upload to production environment and cancel the squarespace account, the images will be broken. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get all the images properly uploaded to my local dev site and then migrate to production site. I've Googled this question with no good solution so far. Any Ideas? Thanks
  22. Is there a way to search imported images? If not, that would be a FANTASTIC feature to add
  23. I can't find a way to import blog posts (without another blog) or events. The API seems to only work with products. https://developers.squarespace.com/commerce-apis/overview Is there a blog or event API somewhere? Or has someone made a plug in to import posts or authors?
  24. Site URL: http://www.nico-young.squarespace.com Can anyone help me with this? I reached the max amount of pages on my Squarespace 5 site, so I have to migrate to squarespace 7. This should be a painless process though, due to the import feature. However, I've been trying over and over to use the import feature to import my Squarespace 5 site to my Squarespace 7 site, but the import keeps failing. I enter in the site url, then the password as it asks. but it always fails. It seems like I'm doing everything right, yet it always fails. I would really appreciate some help, thank you!
