  1. Being that mine is mosty a photography site, I choose to stay with a white background, with black, and a few red, title fonts, and red CTA buttons and links so they will pop out. The images provide the color for my site.
  2. Take a look at my 7.0 blog page. You will see an archive block drop down that has stories by subject. I could create a scond dropdown sorting posts by tag. If this looks like something you could use, I will fully explain how I built it. I did not use a plug in. I used code for the summary item designs and to make some minor changes to the archive block. https://myrandomviews.com/storyarchive
  3. I do, however questions do come up on how to syle a blog page list. Each 7.0 template is different in that regard, and all 7.1 designs work the same, so I posted the chart to show does differences.
  4. It is Times New Roman in the image. Show a little leg
  5. Read more link is an option you enable when you edit the summary block design.
  6. It should, the CSS code changes the style of the button not what it is linked to. Like this code that I use to create a drop shadow and change the color. I can place it in custom css (without the <style>) or advanced header code injection of a particular page. <style> .button-block { filter: drop-shadow(8px 8px 8px #666666); }</style>
  7. Use this in Custom CSS: @media screen and (max-width:750px) { #projectThumbs .project { float: none; width: 100% !important; } #projectThumbs .project img { width: 100% !important; height: auto !important; left: 0 !important; top: 0 !important; } } Nice to see another site by an Avenue user, like myself my random views
  8. Yep, you can do it straight out of the box. The video is hosted on youtube.
  9. Site URL: https://www.myrandomviews.com/ This should help with questions about how you can style a blog and gallery pages with each template. There are limits with both which is why I prefer to use blog and gallery summary blocks. They are very customizable. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/228344967#toc-blog-pages
  10. Standard pages and blocks can be duplicated but not a whole blog page. You can however create a new blog page and duplicate all the posts from the original one, one at a time, to the new one. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543627-Duplicating-pages-and-content#toc-duplicate-a-blog-post
  11. Working for my 7.0 site. I highlight the text, menu panel comes up and I can click the link icon as normal. I click normal to choose text size, that too looks okay. Using Chrome from my Windows 10 laptop.
  12. Not a big fan of either. I have used them in blog posts but have gone back and changed them to standard slideshows.
  13. Don't post just to be posting and filling up space. Have something to say or show that is from the heart and has careful thought behind it.
  14. 99 percent of imges on my site are my own. I do use a few stock/google images as a visual lead in to a blog post. That is very rare however. Some photos I use are old historical images or pictures of family provided to me by a relative. An image provides a visual invitiation to read my story. my random views
  15. Could be possible without code depending on the template you are using.
  16. Squarespace does not allow for folders inside a folder.
  17. I don't think you can block a url on someone else's page. In reality however the url you posted doesn't actually exist on the site, its an empty URL redirect. You could substitute any website domain for yours and it will still go to the sites home page, and then your broswer cache remembers that redirect as if it were a real url. For example you can substitute facebook for simonwetz.... and the site behavior is the same.
  18. I have a couple of CTAs on my landing page which direct to pages on the main site. There are a number of CTAs included in the main site. One is an rss feed registration button to follow.it, one is for leaving a form message, one takes you back to the main story (blog) page from the footer of any blog post. There are some read more links to offsite urls, and links at the bottom of posts that are in parts from one part to the next one. I try to make it easy to navigate around my two blog pages, one of which is all summary items of the other blog page posts.
  19. It is a Brine Family Template, which starting design I can't identify, there are over 40 of them, but anyone can be made to look like another. That being said it reminds me the most of the Clay Template. https://clay-demo.squarespace.com/ https://www.sarahhalliday.com/squarespace-tips/the-brine-family-template-index
  20. You need to post your site address in order to get help faster.
  21. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/215761717-Using-RSS-feeds
  22. Instructions are here, look for Brine Family which includes your template. You will need to upload the image you want to use to the custom css file manager in your site. That url goes where the url is in the instructions. https://beaverhero.com/squarespace-background-image/
