  1. Hi, Hoping someone can assist as I am new to Squarespace. I currently have a domain registered with GoDaddy but is currently pointing to a web hosting site (via nameservers), called SiteA, which is a Wordpress site. Attached to this web hosting site, i.e. SiteA - I have MS Office 365 setup for all the emails against my domain. I have now redone my site but using Squarespace, using my existing domain, for example: mydoamin.com My questions are as follows: 1) What is required for me, so that my domain , which is registered with GoDaddy, instead now points to my new Squarespace website and not my existing SiteA website? 2) I assume I need to point the nameservers at GoDaddy, to instead point to Squarespace nameservers/my website - if so, what is required here? Squarespace nameservers? 3) With Office 365 residing within SiteA config, how do I access and instead use Squarespace to handle all my Office 365 emails, i.e.: a) where in Squarespace can I setup DNS records for Office 365? b) where do I setup TXT, MX and CNAME records inorder for Squarespace to work with Office 365? Would really appreciate your help with above queries. Thanks.
  2. Site URL: http://www.jawbonebrewing.com Hi there, Hoping I can sanity check this with you guys before I make a big mistake! I am hoping to transfer an existing domain that I registered with Namecheap in 2019 over to Squarespace (I have a .com and co.uk domain - more on that later). I have pretty much built the site and looking to set a holding/parked page live while I finish it off. Before I do so, I'd like to add professional email addresses to my Namecheap account. It seems much cheaper than using G Suite through Squarespace (and the budget is really really tight for us right now - thanks Covid). So: - am I ok to transfer my .com domain over to Squarespace, but keep my .co.uk domain with Namecheap (and permanently redirect that link to the .com page)? And will I be charged to register this domain with Squarespace? (I read somewhere it is $20 but I might be entitled to the first year free?) - am I ok to set up my email addresses in Namecheap, even if I'm transferring the domain to Squarespace? I don't want to transfer it and then find I owe G Suite £15 a month for my three email addresses. Thanks so much for your help, and apologies if this seems like a very basic question... I feel very out of my comfort zone!! Emma
  3. Site URL: https://burgundy-plane-44kj.squarespace.com/ Hi, I brought a domain name from third party but not the host server. how do i connect to my squarespace? the domain name i brought is www.littlecarsg.sg under the remarks, they say squarespace do not support sg. i only brought the domain, but not the host. what should i do?
  4. Hi, I got a domain on Godaddy yesterday. I went to transfer it into Squarespace and it said unable to because it was registered in the last 60 days. Is there any way around this? Thanks!
  5. Site URL: http://www.imagined-worlds.net I'm helping a client with an existing squarespace site, which is live but needs updating. They have a GoDaddy Domain name but the existing records say that they are deprecated and it's not the full set of CNAME and a records that I'm used to setting up for squarespace sites (only this one: www CNAME www.squarespace6.com Deprecated and 1 A Record) It's also not a secure connection and I can't seem to apply an SSL and GoDaddy wants money for that, so I think I need to update this but I don't want to take the site down. GoDaddy is a mess. Can anyone help me with the best way forward to proceed. Do I disconnect domain and then ask to reconnect to GoDaddy? I don't want to transfer domain from GoDaddy as they are their email host thank you for any pointers Vibeke
  6. I have two sites on squarespace and both are live. I want to keep (Site+Domain B) and redirect (Site+Domain A) to (Site+Domain B). Important here is that several pages on (site+domain A) are ranking well, so I want to redirect on a page by page level. I'm an SEO and have done several site migrations in the past, but all on WordPress. With no access to server (.htaccess, etc.) on SquareSpace, I'm getting mixed answers on how to properly configure this. I spoke to SquareSpace help chat and got an answer that made zero sense. Has anyone done this that can confirm how to handle it? I know I can upload a 301 redirect list to (Site+Domain A) for all the subfolders, but I don't think it will accept a redirect for the home page "/". Thanks in advance for any help!
  7. Site URL: https://www.%20anybodysautos.squarespace.com My website is going to showcase a gallery of featured vehicles from local car dealerships. What happens if the dealer sells that vehicle and takes down their product page? I'm betting that they don't actually delete those pages, but I can't count on them having their own redirect. Is there some kind of code that I can use on my website to avoid a 404 error when my link is about to take a viewer to my client's deleted page? Ideally, a viewer would click on a gallery image on my website, and if it's about to go to a deleted page on the dealer's website, the code would bypass a 404 error and take them to the dealership homepage. Thanks for any suggestions! p.s. You need a password if you visit my site: AutoSales
  8. Site URL: http://www.naturesetude.com Ok, I have build my replacement site on SquareSpace and I am ready to transfer my domain. So, to be clear, I purchased the domain through Network Solutions and they maintain were the DNS is pointing and I renew my domain names through them. My current site is hosted by InMotion Hosting. So my view of things is that my web site will not be hosted by SquareSpace and I need to point the DNS to Squarespace and need a Name Server names (NS1 & NS2) which I cannot find anywhere on Squarespace's help text. However, I get the impression that Squarespace is thinking I will transfer the management of my Domain to them and that I will then pay Squarespace for renewals, etc. Is this true? Is it possible to let Network Solutions handle my domain and just point the DNS to Squarespace? Earl
  9. I am wanting to map traffic from an incoming domain to a specific domain. Currently all traffic from another service provider is being sent to my domain on SquareSpace. (this was done by following the Squarespace directions on "Connecting a domain to your Squarespace site".) It is currently landing on my home page. I would like this traffic to land on a specific page. Is there a way to make this happen? Example: I have 2 domains. 1. Cookies.com 2. Chipcookies.com Under the "Cookies" domain I have a landing page that is called "chocolatechipcookies". Currently "Chipcookies.com" lands at "Cookies.com". I would like it to land at cookies.com/ chocolatechipcookies. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help you can provide!!
  10. Site URL: http://www.elbpapercutting.com All, I've searched for quite some time and I'm having trouble finding what the difference would be between these two. Hoping somebody can break it down easily. I have http://www.elbpapercutting.com connected to https://www.birdmafia.com, so it goes to the homepage. I found that my domain registrar allows domain forwarding, so I'd like it to go to a specific page. https://www.birdmafia.com/elb/process Do I need to disconnect the domain first, then go to my domain registrar and do the forwarding, or will it just not work at all for a specific page since it's a 3rd party registrar and not squarespace? Would there be any difference between forwarding the domain over connecting the domain? Thanks for any info. Attached photos: screenshot showing my connected domains, then my dns records for elbpapercutting.com, then my domain forwarding.
  11. I know that the Squarespace FAQs say this can't be done, but I thought I'd ask the question - is there any way I can link a second domain to a specific page on my website? The main domain is linked to the homepage of the website, but I was running a second site which I've now incorporated into my Squarespace site. As people are familiar with the old domain name, I want it to link directly to the new page on the website which I've set up - is this possible at all? Thanks.
  12. All, along with the integration of GloriaFood capability to my website I/somehow the domain got transfered from the underlying squarespace site to an external website offered by GloriaFood. I was of the estimation I can change this setting within the domain settings of my squarespace account but other than I can see the external domain (www.la-perla-nera.org) as well as the internal/integrated squarespace website I don't find any setting where I can adjust the current setup. Somebody around who can give me some advice where I can change it? Thanks in advance, Marc
  13. Site URL: https://www.jtagle.com Hey guys, Pass site: jaysite Please can you give me feedback on my website and what's the best ways to market and launch your site :)
  14. I want to use my own subdomain as the URL but don't see anything on the site describing how to do that and no way to talk to an actual human about it. Also, can the store be used in an iFrame on my existing site if I can't use my own subdomain?
  15. Site URL: http://https/sjanssenlcsw.com I have an older domain connected to a previous version of my new Squarespace site. When I publish my Squarespace site, I want to retain my old domain name, but redirect it to the new site. What is the best way to do this?
  16. Site URL: https://www.peridotcapitalist.com Previously I had my corporate site (peridotcapital.com) and my blog site (peridotcapitalist.com) as separate domains. I have now imported my blog site and all blog posts into the corporate site. The old blog landing page (peridotcapitalist.com) is now found at peridotcapital.com/blog and the blog posts went from being at peridotcapitalist.com/yyyy/mm/post-title/ to being at peridotcapital.com/blogposts/yyyy/mm/post-title/ I have have transferred the old domain (peridotcapitalist.com) to Squarespace to allow me to successfully redirect the blog traffic to the new site urls. To do this I really need to accomplish two things: 1) Get peridotcapitalist.com to redirect to peridotcapital.com/blog (I have completed this step by forwarding the domain under DNS settings) 2) Redirect all of the old post pages (peridotcapitalist.com/yyyy/mm/post-title/) to their new location (peridotcapital.com/blogposts/yyyy/mm/post-title/). #2 above is what I cannot figure out. I assumed that transferring the domain to Squarespace would allow me to set up two redirects (one for the home page and one for all of the post pages) but right now the blog post pages all redirect to the new blog home page (peridotcapital.com/blog). Is there any way to redirect the posts too, and not just the root domain, of a secondary domain hosted with Squarespace? Thanks for any help! Chad UPDATE: I removed the domain forwarding for the secondary connected domain to see if that would allow me to setup URL mapping on the primary domain for the individual blog posts. That did work, so that gives me #2 above in exchange for losing #1. Is there any way to redirect the home page for the connected domain itself, while keeping it linked to the site so that the URL mapping works for individual pages with updated urls? Just trying to get both objectives done, even though I prefer #2 to #1 above if I have to choose. Thanks!
  17. I have a site that is happily not published and password protected. I want a copy of that site, but a separate landing page, with many pages deleted, and published and not password protected. I thought I obtained and verified the second domain, but when I go to /config/ the URL seems to be my original site and not the copy. I don't want to delete many pages only to find that I have altered the original??
  18. I recently created a website and it doesn't have the domain that I purchased because I switched templates causing me to create a entirely new website in my account dashboard. How do I switch my domain without having to start over from scratch? Please help!
  19. Hi all, Here is my saga: I'm setting up a new website for a client, migrating from Wordpress to Squarespace (www.slide.com.au). My client originally point me to a company named Digital Pacific for everything DNS. Long story short, these people tell me that it has nothing to do with them but with Cloudflare. My client doesn't have any login details for Cloudflare or has any idea of when or why this was set-up. To regain access to the CF account, they ask me to change the nameservers - which I find out out of the blue, are with Netregistry. I was able to get access back to the Coudflare account and made the DNS changes requested by Squarespace in order to connect the domain. Attached is what I see on both end. The Cloudflare end seem ok but Squarespace is still showing errors. What can I do to solve this? Does this have anything to do with Netregistry? Thank all.
  20. I recently pointed my 1&1 registered domain, masonsmn.com, away from justhost where I had a wordpress site built toward my new site/removals constructed using squarespace. I would like to view a few pages of the old site as they were previously (i.e. I messed up. In hindsight a few screenshots then would have been a good idea). Does anyone know how I can access those wordpress pages at this point? Thanks,
  21. Hi everyone! I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have my domain with SiteGround (I purchased it this week, and I believe there is a 60-day lock on transfers). I do not have a hosting plan, which means they do not provide access to DNS settings. Is there an alternate way of connecting my domain to SquareSpace? Thank you in advance for your help. Andre Costa
  22. I am having an issue every time I try to connect my domain to my Squarespace page. I am the domain owner and try to click through the "use my own domain" flow, then type in the domain name and select "Google Domains" option. The next step is clicking to launch the window to log in to the Google account associated with my domain I was to link. However even before that upon launch of the window a "There was an issue linking your Google Domain" appears in the background and upon selecting the correct Google account this message appears: Reached out to Squarespace support - but I have not had this issue on my other account and was able to link them yesterday.
  23. I have an existing, active domain on a different hosting platform that I would like to transfer to a new website I have built on Squarespace. I have been reading about the transition period which the Help page suggests might take 15 or so days to complete. I am wondering if there will be any interruption to my existing domain/website during this transition period-- i.e. Will my existing website be down during this transition period? I would assume not as that would make any transition very difficult because company's (including ourselves) cannot afford such downtime for their website. I am assuming the answer to this is no but wanted to confirm before I initiate the transfer. Any insight from someone who has transferred an active domain to Squarespace would be helpful! Thanks,Matthew
  24. Hi there, while my SustainableBuildingSupplies.com.au works, but the same wiht www. in front (i.e. www.SustainableBuildignSupplies.com.au) just shows the enetica domain registration page . Can someone advise how to solve this? CheersMarc
  25. I need Squarespace to tell me my IP number so I can edit my domain managing page which is currently being managed by Go Daddy. At the moment, without making this fix (which GoDaddy just suggested) people can't Access my website as they always have in the past. the only way they can access it now is by going to https://MYFIRSTNAME.MYLASTNAME..squarespace.com/?r=A BUNCH OF NUMBERS. I'm sure this could easily be fixed if I could only talk to a Squarespace support person, but I believe that kind of support is no longer available. So I need help in contacting the appropriate person or persons by email. Thank you – Lloyd
