  1. @TheSEOtog If a sitemap didn't automatically update, you can ask SS support to kick it off. You shouldn't see those URLs after it updates.
  2. All URLs on the site mentioned above are indexed. "Thin content" refers to the quality and usefulness of a page vs word count. Pages can have well under 300 words and still bring in 1000s of visitors. More info: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/seo-word-count "Domain authority" as defined by most people plays no role in ranking and low DA sites can rank content alongside large media conglomerates. And DA has nothing to do with brand search. More info: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/ranking-factors/domain-authority/
  3. @manos Only 3 are indexed. Check GSC to see if any traffic or links to those URLs, if so you could redirect. If not, 404 is fine.
  4. @JJ_Curves You'll want to expand the Home page a bit linking internally and write clearer title tags.
  5. Hi @ingrid.villamagdalen Unless paid, the links are fine and it looks like you are providing useful info, but the page does need proper structure and title. In general, the site needs some design and structural tweaks for better performance. If you book a short session, I can walk you through my recommendations. For anyone who does need to qualify an outbound link you can use a markdown block. And you can use a site wide solution when appropriate. More info here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/qualify-outbound-links
  6. @HazanMediaGroup The format is: https://www.yourdomain.com/pageslug?format=rss In your case, pageslug is /news
  7. @velocd Yes the 404 in that situation is expected behavior. But in general, you should embed the booking calendar on the website.
  8. For reference, blog.example.com is a subdomain, not a “wild card domain." A wildcard DNS record can be created with an asterisk (*) to capture non-existing subdomains. This said, I don’t know of any site (Amazon, Apple, Google, etc.) using wildcard DNS. Subdomains can be useful for content that is completely separate from the main site, for example: support.squarespace.com or forum.squarespace.com. See this article for more info: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/subdomains-vs-subfolders-seo/239795/ But generally speaking, most small business blogs will be a subdirectory or subfolder structure: example.com/blog
  9. @safulgencio Also check for the profile under Squarespace Connected Accounts. In GSC copy the HTML file info and send to SS Support for manual removal. At one point SS had automated removing the token, but for now they are back to manual removal. More here: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/squarespace-google-search-console Note, you might need to verify ownership again: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9008080?hl=en
  10. @prado2020 Scan the entire sitemap for a recent date -- make sure you aren't just seeing the first date listed in the sitemap. That said, sitemaps are known to have issues. If you google the topic you'll find more info.
  11. To remove permissions, visit Settings > Permissions, and click the 3 dots in upper right corner. Website owners should not share their own login info -- invite individual contributors to the site with the appropriate level of permissions. If you shared your password, yes change it. You can leave a detailed review on the platform where you hired.
  12. Your website's homepage URL -- which Google understands properly -- is: https://www.baitboxvending.co.uk Do not link to or reference the "/home" URL.
  13. The examples above are looking at the non-www version of your URL. But you selected the www version as preferred and it is indexed.
  14. This is normal reporting in GSC for AMP. Look under Enhancements > AMP and you’ll see a list of valid AMP pages and any errors.
  15. Hi Polly. This means you have Settings > Blogging > AMP toggled on. Note, I've seen temporary Google crawling issues on SS sites after turning off AMP.
  16. To change title tag structure for items such as blogs/products/events/etc see Marketing > SEO > Items
  17. @Jimmyp24 They do not want 2 sites live. Moving to SS is fine. In general, you'd use an established domain unless a business case can be made for a new one. It is a small site, so an SEO could walk you through on-page and off-page tasks in a short consult. Note, moving from HTTP to HTTPS is also a form of a migration: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/site-move-with-url-changes For anyone reading this, if the basics of 301 redirects are new to you, then you should not perform a site migration for someone else's existing business without assistance. This also applies to structural redesigns.
  18. @ElliceF It sounds like you might be looking for the custom 404 option: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814478-Creating-a-custom-404-page
  19. Administrator if you want them to be able to make needed updates.
  20. FWIW sitemaps haven't been updating for the last week (since about 1/17).
  21. The image can be deleted from the GBP: https://support.google.com/business/answer/6103862?hl=en
  22. Hi there. Thin content refers to low-quality low-value pages, it is not word count: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/seo-word-count
