  1. Site URL: https://lanternfish-blenny-36s2.squarespace.com/latest-1 Hey Folks, Okay so I'm trying to work out how to have an index with each (blank) page featuring a media image in the index. Currently once you click into the blank page the media image appears as a a banner at the top of that banner page - which is what I want to stop from happening. I want a media inage featured on each page of the index - and when you click into each page its just a normal (blank) page where i can display my work. Have tried all kinds of code and nothing works as yet. This is the index page: https://lanternfish-blenny-36s2.squarespace.com/latest-1 When you then click into the "conceptual' page the image of the people getting blown in the wind then appears as a banner image at the top of the page - this is what I want to stop from happening. https://lanternfish-blenny-36s2.squarespace.com/conceptual-1 Help Please!!
  2. Site URL: https://www.leebonnick.com/ How can I turn on the slideshow for the index page when using the Henson template on desktop? And can I adjust the timing of the images?
  3. Site URL: https://www.cainla.com/ Hey guys! Quick question if anyone has an answer. I have a site that has an index page as the main navigation. Reason being is because I have other titles and pages underneath that I want on one page. I am on 7.0 the Brine Mojave template so you can see what I mean about the multiple pages. I want to have those multiple pages under the index page on the main navigation as well so when you click on "Listen" or "Features" it drops you right on that area of the one page. I have spoken to squarespace already so I know within their site it isn't doable but I am hoping with some custom coding we might be able to make it work. Any help is greatly appreciated! I will attach some files as well so you can see.
  4. Site URL: http://www.gatherist.com.au Hello. I'm using SS v7.0 - Brine Family (Walking Rovers template) and I have an issue with my homepage (a stacked index page). The last section on my homepage contains a background image with a newsletter sign-up form on top. I want to add the direct link to this newsletter section to my IG bio but when I type the direct link (www.gatherist.conm.au/newsletter) into my browser, the background image won't load so there's just a white background. I can partly see the sign-up form and button but it looks rather odd without the actual background image. I've tried this with every section on my homepage and the background image always fails to load when typing the URL for each section directly into the browser window. If I type just my web address (www.gatherist.com.au), the background images all load perfectly. I've tried multiple devices and browsers but get the same results. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you very much. R.
  5. Site URL: https://differentkennedy.com/apparel Coming back to my site after a while and tried to toggle my page titles back so that they appear below the thumbnails on my index page and cannot figure it out. I would like each t-shirt to have the site title appear underneath so that they are a more obvious click-through. I have the "Hide Page Title" option toggled off and can't find anything in my custom css that targets that except for a hover transition effect and google isn't helping - anyone here to the rescue?
  6. Site url Hello kind people! I'm trying to implement a sticky side bar inside index sub-page with a jump-links that will be highlighted as you scroll to each section, I'm half way there and did manage to make the side bar sticky with help, but I don't know how to make the jump links change color as you scroll to the perspective section. Here's a perfect example of what I'm trying to do. Can somebody help me with this? Can it be done without javascript? My coding knowledge is pretty rudimental. Thank you!!
  7. Site URL: http://comohandcraftedgifts.com While stumbling around trying to find out why I am not getting many visits to my site as a result of web searches, I discovered that roughly one half (108-215) of the pages have not been indexed, per Google Search Console. I'm not sure what the reason(s) may be, it appears that it's not because of errors, but some other reasons. I would appreciate it if someone could perhaps give me an idea of what the issue(s) could be, I thought each page was created basically the same using the template provided by Squarespace. Thanks! Patrick L.
  8. Site URL: https://evolutionofbrilliance.squarespace.com/ Hello, I am using the below header code injection to limit summary excerpt's... (this has been successful when inserted into main 'blog' page) <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.5.0/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="https://www.jqueryscript.net/demo/Cropping-Text-Without-Breaking-Words-jQuery-Limit-Text/limit.text.min.js"></script> <script> $(function () { $('.summary-excerpt p').addClass('cuttext'); $('.cuttext').limitText({ length: 160 }); }) </script> My issue is with the index homepage as I am using the summary block for a few different sections - in one instance I need the excerpt limited (I want this limited on the orange blog 'latest articles' section) but for blue 'testimonials' section, I need the full excerpt. Is there a way to have these two variations on an index page? Thank you Pw: 123456
  9. Site URL: https://www.marta-guerrero.com/ Hi there, I am looking into adding a subheading underneath the title on the Henson template, that has different size and color. Perhaps, I am not sure yet, it can be a line that has same fonts and size than Headings, 1, 2, or 3 of the website. Would this be possible to do? Many thanks Marta I include a screenshoot. Maybe, I would like to justify this subheading on the right side. Many thanks for your help.
  10. Site URL: https://naturalwellnessfordogs.com I'm hoping someone can help me.... I'm working on my website and it's not my primary expertise. I just discovered that even though google search console has my site map -- 100+ of my pages are being excluded. It mostly appears to be content within my blog. I can only add 10 manually at a time, so I'm hoping to figure out what the crawler isn't picking up these URLs and including them in search engines. The articles are actively published. Is there a setting somehwere I could be missing a bulk update? Thank you.
  11. Site URL: http://www.goodthingfactory.com/ Hi All ... SquareSpace support suggested I post here. Apparently, there's a 100 subpage limit for a given index page in the Flatiron template. While you can add as many pages as you want to the Index only the first 100 will be visible through any navigation path. The CS rep I spoke with seemed to think there's a way to modify the code to remove the limit. I've searched through previous posts but haven't come up with anything. Thanks in advance for the help.
  12. I'm looking to round the corners of the the index page image blocks but I'm running into difficulty. So far, using the bit of code below, I've gotten the images' corners to round when you hover over them, but I'd like it to be that way even if someone isn't hovering over the image. Code: .index-item.has-item-image { border-radius: 20px !important; } Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the corners stay rounded without hovering over them?
  13. Site URL: https://moode-inc.squarespace.com/ https://moode-inc.squarespace.com/ password: moodejudy Hey! Hoping that someone could provide me with a code to fix this issue. I have a carousel gallery and I've adjusted the site styles and used some code so that there is no padding and the gallery takes up the entire section, but it is too tall and overwhelms the page. I've tried adjusting the size of the images and several different code snippets, but nothing has worked to make it smaller. Any suggestions much appreciated! FYI this is the code I am using to make it full-width. If there's a different way to make the carousel full width and full height let me know 🙂
  14. Site URL: https://www.welshphotographer.co.uk/ Hi all, I've attached a link to my website. I was wondering if there was a way to have the square tiles like they are now, but to have above them a large image that is a slideshow of images to give people a flavour of my work before they have to click into the square 'links' to the galleries? I did try to make a new gallery using the + button on top navigation but that just makes a new slideshow page under the menu so I then make a moving slideshow on a blank page and added that to the top navigation but it did the same. Dropping that page to the 'Work' section just makes a new square tile so again didn't work ? Thanks!
  15. Site URL: https://www.withinreach.info/ I have a robust website that I had to use a ton of index pages on for design purposes. Unfortunately with that, they all live in the not-linked section. My client wants it so that when someone is clicked on a page in the navigation they are able to see what page they are on in the navigation as an active link. I understand it's redirecting to a different page and that's why it's doing that but is there a solution to make it work so that it stays actively highlighted? https://www.withinreach.info/ Password: withinreach
  16. Site URL: https://cristinabevia.com/ Hello! I'm having an issue with the mobile version of my site. The single banner images are two per row and very very small. I'm hoping to make each image one row without changing the look of my desktop version. For some context, this home page is an index page and the images link to these pages. I'm very new to CSS and have had a hard time seeing any changes when I write codes I've been finding.
  17. This is probably the most annoying thing about Squarespace for me and has prevented me from using the service for a while. I would simply like to use the York template and on the portfolio index page I want the images (that are sub linked to their respective pages) to display at their original aspect ratio and not get re-cropped. This is really incredibly annoying and re-cropping to a set aspect ratio only works for illustrators who have solid colour backgrounds to their images otherwise, it just looks ridiculous. How can I display images on the native York portfolio index page with their original aspect ratios? This website is a perfect example of what I mean if there's any confusion https://aaronlowelldenton.com/ - a continuous scroll of images at their original ratio where they are linked to their own page.
  18. Site URL: https://www.stillalive2020.com/projects Hello! One of my website pages (projects) is an index, it uses the first page/item of the index as banner. This banner appears to be taller than the other pages creating a lack of consistency in the website. Do you know how I can resolve this? thanks a lot! fede
  19. When I typed site:plantconnectionunlimited.com my site did not show up so I submitted a site map to Google. Now an old deleted homepage is showing up. When I check the coverage the old deleted homepage is the only page that Google said is valid. The rest of my pages include the new home page are excluded in Google coverage. I resubmitted the site map to Google but the same problem still exist.  Is there anything else I can do? Pic is the deleted homepage that's showing up.
  20. Site URL: https://www.thecarolamoon.com/selfie-live-masterclass Hello all, I've got a new index page where I have a space/padding above the first page section that I can't find to remove and it's stealing precious screen space. In the picture, it's the olive-coloured space above the purple page section. Thank you, Carola
  21. Helllooo!! I would like to have this website exist on one long scrolling page but would like to have each index section anchor-linked to a regular menu (top header as well as mobile menu). I tried doing this by adding a code injection by using anchor tags (#"insertwhateveranchorterm") in each section and then setting up each menu item as a link in the primary navigation menu(with yourdomain.com/indexpageslug/#whateveranchorterm) - however it doesn't pull the anchored link to the top of the browser, instead it just goes to just that section on it's own and looks like shit. Does anyone know how to effectively do this without recreating some faux-navigation buttons or words?
  22. Site URL: https://www.gardenclubofoldgreenwich.org/stuff Hi, I have an index page in Brine, and the first page is a markdown block (it's the only thing on the page.) You can toggle its block and see another page. Is there a way to make the page look more like a banner? I have a background image that is a solid color and it would look fine if there was less padding on the top and bottom. When the page is not an index page, I can color the markdown box but it doesn't go from edge to edge so it looks like a banner instead of a floating box. Thanks
  23. Site URL: https://deosergeyisakov.com/ Hey, I want to make my index-gallery more flexible and organic, with different sizes for each thumbnail. (I attached a reference) Is there a way to do that ? I'm using "avenue" theme. Thank you!
  24. Site URL: https://www.felixdiazescauriaza.com Hello all! I'm using Flatiron template for my illustration portfolio, and my Squarespace 7.0 site is integrated with Google Analytics (UA property). By default, Google Analytics tracks the index page as a whole, but doesn't show each picture from the index's gallery individually, so a few years ago I looked for a solution that would make G Analytics trigger each time a single picture from the index gallery was selected. I found this great solution from Silvabokis (Colin Irwin) that consisted on inserting some CSS in the header of my Squarespace site, and it worked amazingly: each time someone selected a picture to display from the index gallery, Google Analytics counted it as a single page si I was able to see which of my illustrations was more clicked. This is the injected code: <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> var initialhref = window.location.href; window.setInterval(foo, 1500); function foo(){ var currenthref = window.location.href; if ( currenthref != initialhref ) { var arrsplitvpv = currenthref.split('https://www.felixdiazescauriaza.com/'); var trackurl = arrsplitvpv[1]; var pagetitle = $("#grid .sqs-dynamic-data-active .project-title h2").text(); ga('send', 'pageview', '/vpv/' + trackurl, 'pagetitle'); initialhref = currenthref; }; } </script> It worked until recently. Now it doesn't trigger when anyone loads a particular picture from my index gallery. I understand some code but I'm really far from being able to touch it, so I don't know what's happening now... I recently changed my domain to felixdiazescauriaza.com, and I Donn't know if that has got something to do with it failing... I've updated Google Analytics to reflect the new URL, and also everything in Squarespace, etc... I'd appreciate it if someone could help me solve this or if there's another workaround to being able to track each individual picture from my Flatiron index in Google Analytics, please. Maybe switching to the new Squarespace 7.1? Also, all the credit to Colin Irwin at Silvabokis for the mentioned code. Thanks so much in advance!
  25. Site URL: http://colorist.us I have an index page with galleries under it. But I want a few pages that mimic the behaviour but only have some of the gallery posts. So on the main site it would have all of them, but then if another navigation page is selected it would be a subset of the posts. For instance separating out blog posts, or photos, or videos. I would assume this could be done with tags, but I made a second index and I don't see any way to do anything but add new pages. I don't want to duplicate the content because then if I need to modify something I'd need to modify it everywhere. Difficult to build all pages twice, not to mention SEO issues. Is this doable or do I need to ditch squarespace and build a custom site? Thanks.
