  1. Site URL: https://www.herocards.us/ Google Console appears to be indexing my site but says "couldn't fetch" every time I try to submit the sitemap.xml. There are other forum posts about this, but the only resolutions I'm seeing range from "wait" to "don't worry." It has been a month since I first submitted my sitemap, and I'm still getting "couldn't fetch" under GC Sitemap, and "Indexed, not submitted in sitemap" when I do a URL Inspection. Help!
  2. Site URL: https://www.bobbymillette.com/ Hi, It seems that most of my blog post are not being indexed by google. I have submitted my sitemap and I have also submitted each page manually. I talked to two squarespace support agents and they basically just pointed me to an article that doesn't help. My pages are all set to public and there is no code injected on the site that would set it to no index. I would contact google but it's almost impossible to reach a real person. Anyone know what could be going on?
  3. Hi there, I have tried for some time to add an existing (verified) Google Business Profile Listing to a client's site and the screen freezes at the square after allowing me to get as far as connecting the google account associated with it and clicking on "allow". I have tried troubleshooting with the following: -Waited and tried again in a few days -Tried on various browsers -Logged in, logged out -Verified emails, admin privileges, etc. -The site is live -Tried on various computers -Tried instead to just add a new business listing (this did not work either) I have successfully done this before, but I feel like there must be some update or something I am missing?) Thank you for any help or insight!
  4. Site URL: https://www.cottoncashmerecathair.com/ I have discovered via search console that Google is indexing my archive pages, categories, and tags over individual blog posts, which means my site is not showing up in search results when it should be. How can I tell Google not to index those pages and instead index the blog posts? I read in other posts here that you can inject code, but how do I inject code for pages that aren't in my navigation? I also know about canonical links but they confuse me; is that something I do in search console? How does one go about setting those? Any insight/tips would be much appreciated!
  5. Site URL: https://www.arnaudchabot.com Hello, I transferred my site domain from 7.0 to 7.1. I deleted my old site and my problem is: When I run a site audit, I have redirect problems on all my pages. Is it because I had the same page links on the site in 7.0? I also have errors on pages that are deleted. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance Ps: sorry for my english 😛
  6. Site URL: https://www.chasingwonderful.com/lifestyle/the-importance-of-self-care Hi, Not sure if someone can advise, I'm assuming it may be the pictures or a coding issue but when I index pages from my Squarespace website on Google Console certain pages come back saying they are not mobile-friendly and content is wider than screen. Thanks! - Tracy
  7. Does anyone know how i can remove html file used for Google Search Console verification please? I go to the file manager (where we upload files and set as hyperlinks and that we can remove the files there too) and tried to search for the file name but i cannot find it. Thanks!
  8. Site URL: https://www.potsandpaperbysteph.com/ I have noticed that my website appears differently in google when my business name is searched with and without spaces. When you search 'potsandpaperbysteph' this is what appears: When I google it with spaces, this is what appears: 1. How do I get google to display my site so that my homepage appears first when my name is searched without spaces? 2. How do I get the full list of sitelinks to appear when customers google my name with spaces as they do without? My analytics tell me that my highest search keyword is 'pots and paper by steph' with the spaces so I'd really appreciate it if the my homepage/the sitelinks could show when people google this too! I hope that this makes sense - I'm a total novice and any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 Thank you!
  9. Site URL: https://www.espaciogeranios.com/ Hello, We have been uploading new posts (2 a month) and I was told that because of recent change in Google algorithm it's affecting the indexing of our new blog posts. I tried to manually index them through GSC but it's not working. Has anyone had this problem? Have you come across solutions?
  10. Site URL: https://edume.com I'm seeing hundreds of errors for structured data across our site. Google is telling me there is an issue with the Structured Data Type: Local business, because it's missing the field “name”, therefore ’Not all markup is eligible for rich results’. I'm pretty sure that the error lies in this section of the HTML: <script type="application/ld+json">{"image":"https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5dd67d2aaec74929770fe3cd/t/5f22d3f925594f27b8e21b8e/1605178318421/","openingHours":"Mo 09:00-17:30, Tu 09:00-17:30, We 09:00-17:30, Th 09:00-17:30, Fr 09:00-17:30, , ","@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"LocalBusiness"}</script> The markup (schema) is only mentioning an image, opening hours, and a type ‘LocalBusiness’, without the “name” of the business field (ie EduMe) therefore Google isn't accepting the code and won’t use it for their Local Business structured data results. I found more information on this here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/local-business Our business name is filled in within our Marketing > Location Management panel AND Settings > Business Information. Is there a way for Squarespace to fix this code to include our business name? Thanks.
  11. Site URL: https://www.profane.co.uk I can't access my DNS codes on my squarespace site. I have connected my domain name from a third party (Go Daddy) which is saying "connected" and coloured green under Settings>Domains> on my Squarespace site . I took a screengrab of the Squarespace DNS settings when they flashed up at the point of connection. Although google have verified it, I am having trouble getting google to index it - at present the Google search console says the URL is not on google and suggests there is a "redirect error". I've waited days, way over 72 hours. Page fetch - redirect error I need to check squarespace DNS settings to see if there is anything I need to copy and add to my domain providers DNS. Troubleshooting videos suggest I need to add the long code under "host" and if that doesn't work amend the TXT records... but I cannot access the squarespace DNS records in the first place to get this information? Each time I look it up I am told to go to Settings>Domains> highlight domain> DNS records on my site but the trail stops after Domain>primary??? The screengrab of DNS settings that I took at the time of connection does not display the long code. Can anybody help me - I realise there are a few issues here. Have emailed squarespace but no response in two days? And bot keeps on sending me troubleshooting but I fall at first hurdle i.e. you need those DNS codes from squarespace to effect any change. 1/ Need to find DNS on squarespace for my site 2/ Need to get my site searchable
  12. Site URL: https://www.leighsuggs.com/ Hey I'm wondering if this is an issue that I can fix within Squarespace? I recently switched a client over from 7.0 to 7.1 and rebuilt her website with a few changes to the way it was organized and with a bunch of new content. We connected the old domain to the new site and canceled the old site. When I initially resubmitted the sitemap for the new site and requested indexing on all important pages, there was no issue and her ranking was excellent - showing up 1st in google search results. Now, her home page is not being indexed at all because of a soft 404 issue -- all other pages are being indexed with the exception of https://www.leighsuggs.com/ and https://www.leighsuggs.com/home -- both of which are active links as far as I can tell. And incidentally -- these are the most important pages to be indexed! I submitted a help request to google and their response was that the URL doesn't exist? Help. I've tried removing the home page as the page that people get directed to when there is a 404 message (to catch the old random links from her old site that may exist on various institutions websites) and that didn't help so I turned that back on. Anytime I request indexing within google search console it thinks for a little while and then says "Oops! something went wrong!" I've tried over and over again for the past week with no results. Attached is a screenshot of what it looks like within console. Anyone else run into this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cami
  13. Site URL: https://generatevalley.com/ Hi, I hope you are all doing great. I have developed a website. It was running smoothly and slowly as it is a newbie. It was showing 400, 500 plus impressions and some clicks as well. But in last 12 to 15 days, I feel Google Analytics and Google Search Console is not working properly. Google Analytics shows that there are some user on website but on next day when I check on Google Search Console, it shows no traffic only 7,8 impressions. Before this I was uploading content regularly. I assume my content is fine as I am writing it myself brainstorm the related keywords and using the properly. I don't know why I am facing this issue. Can someone please guide me what is this main issue? Thank you.
  14. Site URL: https://www.chroniclescannabis.ca/ Hi there, I've done some SEO work for other websites, however never with a Squarespace site. I seem to be running into an issue with crawling and indexing and wanted to see if I'm missing something, or if this is a normal issue for Squarespace sites (I generally work with Wordpress). I've created about a dozen pages, and have submitted them to Search Console to be indexed, however they continue to be labelled as 'discovered' in the submitted sitemaps section, but when checking the coverage map it shows just 1 page (the homepage) as valid, and none as 'errors' or 'excluded'. Even the homepage that is labelled as valid notes that it is indexed but not submitted in the sitemap. I've tried manually requesting for indexes on each url, submitting another sitemap, and doing the laundry list worth of site improvements to make it rank, but I'm wondering if I'm simply missing a Squarespace setting or something. For comparison, I created a Wordpress site about a month before and it was crawled and indexed within a week. Any help is appreciated!
  15. When I typed site:plantconnectionunlimited.com my site did not show up so I submitted a site map to Google. Now an old deleted homepage is showing up. When I check the coverage the old deleted homepage is the only page that Google said is valid. The rest of my pages include the new home page are excluded in Google coverage. I resubmitted the site map to Google but the same problem still exist.  Is there anything else I can do? Pic is the deleted homepage that's showing up.
  16. I’m quite new to Squarespace and am trying to understand how to get my blog posts noticed by Google. there’s an option for each blog post to share with various networks - can anyone explain what the Google console option does? I’ve started enabling it in the hope that it will help the new pages get indexed but is that right?
  17. Site URL: https://www.rendyreviews.com/movie-reviews Hi my website has just made it into Google News but there's an issue regarding blurbs. I keep getting my privacy policy footer note than my SEO blog quotes. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
  18. Site URL: https://www.alexengelsfitness.com/ Hello, I added my sitemap to google console and it was processed succesfully, but it says there is only 1 valid URL, and 8 excluded. The excluded URLs obviously don't show up in search results. I think google considers them to be duplicates (?), since there is some duplication of content between pages The 1 valid URL is actually the least important one: https://www.alexengelsfitness.com/gyms How do I tell google that the other 8 pages, or at least my home page, are canonical? Thank you!
  19. Site URL: https://www.horizon-centreparamedical.fr/ Hello, I am a french user 🙂 so I will translate Google term in english from french version! I am trying to index my URL : https://www.horizon-centreparamedical.fr/ But when I click 'Ask for an indexation' a loading screen appears and then show me an error message like "A problem occurred while sending your indexing request. Please try again later." Can someone helps me ? Thanks for your time, Julien
  20. Site URL: https://www.therealtallboy.com/ Hello, When I view the 'Social' tab on individual image settings I noticed it has Google Search Console as an option, which is currently listed as 'Disabled'. Should I enable this option, and if so what does it mean by "Push to Google Search Console"? I have this option for Yelp as well. Thank you.
  21. Google Search Console is reporting an AMP structured data element error on only two of my blog posts. errror image A value for the image field is required. warning image The image field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. I do have a logo set per the Squarespace knowledge base. There are no images in the blog post and no thumbnail image is set for the blog post, but I don't have it set for any of the blog posts so I'm not sure why it's having an issue with just two of the entire set. See attachment for Google Search Console error report.
  22. Site URL: http://ps-esports.com Dear all, I recently updated my Google Admin and Google Search Console account. In Squarespace it required me to reconnect my analytics account, and then I also reconnected all the 'Connected Accounts' within Squarespace Settings. There exists a problem now where the 'Share' / 'Push to Google Search Console' button, for all my calendar events, is turned to 'Disabled'. Just wondering if there is a way to turn all of them back to ‘Enabled', without me having to update each and single calendar events. Appreciate your help.
  23. Site URL: https://www.kandlphotography.co.uk/ Hi, Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue or has a fix for this? Google won’t seem to index or crawl my website. I have had a Squarespace website for around 4 months now and I’m not appearing in Google when I use site: (my url). I understand I might not appear in searchers because of SEO but I would expect it to be found on Google when I directly search my url. I’ve done all the things needs, set up Google console, add a sitemap, used url inspection to crawl and index my site but nothing seems to be working. I can see my website under the live url but it just can’t be found. I have contacted both Squarespace and Google but both haven’t been able to help.
  24. Site URL: https://www.mymichiganbeach.com Hi! Am running into a problem when I add internal links on a blog page. After the goes live, I inspect the page on Google Search Console and end up wit and error message reading "... Disallowed attribute or attribute value present in HTML tag." (See the attached screen shot of error message below.) When I remove the link, this error disappears. This means I am unable to link internally to my other pages. Can anyone please help me fix this? Thanks!
  25. Site URL: https://www.richardsaltermusic.com/ Hi everyone. Sorry for the long rambling post. I've got a question about SEO if anyone has a moment to answer please. I'm not very web savvy but have built my site. I tagged all the images on there, but with the benefit of hindsight I unknowingly used keyword stuffing. That was a few days ago & yesterday I noticed that my ranking, which was page four of Google has disappeared. Well, it's still on Google but is not even in the first ten pages. The site is my portfolio, and there's probably close to a hundred images, in three galleries, on there. which I've tagged in descriptions. I have revised all the image tags to just three keywords: "Richard Salter Music." Is this still going to be considered keyword stuffing? I really wanted to know if these revisions are sufficient to restore my previous ranking, or is there anything else I need to do? There's no manual action notices on Google search console. Some say that my ranking will just restore, others say it's not that simple. Any suggestions or guidance gratefully received! Thanks in advance. x
