  1. Hi there, I have tried for some time to add an existing (verified) Google Business Profile Listing to a client's site and the screen freezes at the square after allowing me to get as far as connecting the google account associated with it and clicking on "allow". I have tried troubleshooting with the following: -Waited and tried again in a few days -Tried on various browsers -Logged in, logged out -Verified emails, admin privileges, etc. -The site is live -Tried on various computers -Tried instead to just add a new business listing (this did not work either) I have successfully done this before, but I feel like there must be some update or something I am missing?) Thank you for any help or insight!
  2. Site URL: https://edume.com I'm seeing hundreds of errors for structured data across our site. Google is telling me there is an issue with the Structured Data Type: Local business, because it's missing the field “name”, therefore ’Not all markup is eligible for rich results’. I'm pretty sure that the error lies in this section of the HTML: <script type="application/ld+json">{"image":"https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5dd67d2aaec74929770fe3cd/t/5f22d3f925594f27b8e21b8e/1605178318421/","openingHours":"Mo 09:00-17:30, Tu 09:00-17:30, We 09:00-17:30, Th 09:00-17:30, Fr 09:00-17:30, , ","@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"LocalBusiness"}</script> The markup (schema) is only mentioning an image, opening hours, and a type ‘LocalBusiness’, without the “name” of the business field (ie EduMe) therefore Google isn't accepting the code and won’t use it for their Local Business structured data results. I found more information on this here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/local-business Our business name is filled in within our Marketing > Location Management panel AND Settings > Business Information. Is there a way for Squarespace to fix this code to include our business name? Thanks.
  3. I'll be direct and to the point. I already have a business listing on, I think it's called Google My Business Page(the one with Google Maps). This I set up already, it's working-ish and I still need to learn it more. The other day I found on my website a portal to set up a Google My Business Page through Squarespace. I filled in all the info and was about to hit the last link to advise Google, and then I STOPPED. I thought, I have a page on GOOGLE already. Will this piss off Google? Do I send it anyway? Will my info from Squarespace's portal 'marry up with Google...or cause me troubles?' Please advise and thank you.
  4. Site URL: https://www.bobbymillette.com/ Hi, It seems that most of my blog post are not being indexed by google. I have submitted my sitemap and I have also submitted each page manually. I talked to two squarespace support agents and they basically just pointed me to an article that doesn't help. My pages are all set to public and there is no code injected on the site that would set it to no index. I would contact google but it's almost impossible to reach a real person. Anyone know what could be going on?
  5. I have implemented correctly formatted structured data/schema markup inside two of my personal website pages, most importantly the About/bio page. The checked and re-checked JSON-LD markup is injected inside the Advanced section of the pages meant for such code. There are no formatting errors in this schema markup, and the code passed muster, too, with Squarespace support, who confirmed it is correct. But I can tell using Google Analytics via the Console set up for the website that after several months of being in there and much re-crawling etc., Google persists in not seeing any of the structured data whatsoever. My structured data is entirely invisible to Google, and I can't figure out why. Zero rich results show up for this data, and also, nothing appears in Enhancements, viz. "No enhancements yet.". Core Web Vitals show "no data". Nothing showing any error(s). It seems impossible to reach anyone at Google on this matter, and of course Squarespace is divorced from the problem. Can anyone out there help me? The pages are: https://www.phoebeeaton.com/bio https://www.phoebeeaton.com/books
  6. Hi, Google search console says my main page was crawled, but not indexed. No other details. The http version was indexed, but only the main page was indexed. I tried: 1. Veryfing the property 2. Submitting a sitemap 3. Requesting indexing 4. Looking for a noindex tag in the html (didn't find any) Anyone has any ideas?
  7. I create a new website, and google sends me an email saying it has not been able to index any of my sitemap pages due to an 401 error. I am totally lost on how to proceed now. (Picture in Spanish, sorry)
  8. Site URL: https://www.arkanummusic.com/ Hey! I've just published my site and logged into google search console via the Analytics -> Search Keywords option in Squarespace. My site does appear as my property in google search console, but when I request indexing via Check URL -> request indexing, I get an error and it says "site cannot be indexed, soft 404". Do you guys have an Idea why?
  9. Site URL: https://justinried.com Trying to add my Squarespace website to the Google Search index. The Search Console gives an error when attempting to crawl the URL, however. For the last 5+ days, it's given a "hostload exceeded" error. Any thoughts on a solution? Time Sep 20, 2022, 8:21:50 AM Crawled as Googlebot desktop Crawl allowed? Yes Page fetch error Failed: Hostload exceeded Indexing allowed? N/A Indexing User-declared canonical N/A Google-selected canonical: Only determined after indexing
  10. When we originally tried getting search console to get our events displayed it kept giving errors that we had no location, along with other issues so we filled out as much as possible in Squarespace to get it to populate. As a side question...can anyone explain why our December event is linked to this random Veterans Job Fair? I had search console recrawl the page but nothing has changed. Posted in google forums twice but haven't gotten 1 response.
  11. Hey guys, I recently published my website and have also signed up for Google Console. However, it seems that my website is still not showing up on Google search... Has anyone encountered this issue before? Hope someone can provide some advice on this. Thanks in advance!
  12. Google Search Console Crawl Stats are showing the following since October Spam update (around 18th October)P Smartphone Googlebot - Declined to almost 0 AdsBot Googlebot - Surging For context, the site also saw impression and click declines immediately after the Spam update. But that doesn't explain to me why the Smartphone Googlebot isn't crawling and especially why the AdsBot Googlebot is surging. I don't pay for ads. I rely mostly on SEO.
  13. Site URL: https://www.abbaandsons.co/ Hello, I finally got most of my pages indexed and active on google. But my home page is failing because of a redirect error. I've been wrestling with this for a minute now... Any help is appreciated.
  14. Site URL: https://www.herocards.us/ Google Console appears to be indexing my site but says "couldn't fetch" every time I try to submit the sitemap.xml. There are other forum posts about this, but the only resolutions I'm seeing range from "wait" to "don't worry." It has been a month since I first submitted my sitemap, and I'm still getting "couldn't fetch" under GC Sitemap, and "Indexed, not submitted in sitemap" when I do a URL Inspection. Help!
  15. Site URL: https://www.wickedinkpublishing.com/sitemap.xml When I go to generate the sitemap for our website, it doesn't work. I also get an error that the URL set is not present or missing tags? I am under the impression that Squarespace would generate a sitemap automatically? How can I go about getting this rectified?
  16. Site URL: https://www.liboudoirphotography.com Both Google and Bing are telling me that robots.txt is overlapping resources on my mobile site. Google is listing my mobile site as unusable as a result. Bing specifically points out these: https://www.liboudoirphotography.com/api/1/performance/settings https://www.liboudoirphotography.com/api/census/form-render https://www.liboudoirphotography.com/api/census/RecordHit
  17. Site URL: https://treeoflifemysteryschool.com I need to verify my website with Google. The website is https://treeoflifemysteryschool.com. This use to take about 5 minutes -- simple adding an HTML file to the site's header. Note that the domain name is registered at GoDaddy. Does Squarespace allow the upload of the Google HTML file -- site-wide? I don't want to go into each page and upload the file. This seems like it ought to be easy. At this point, I'm partly just curious. Thank you. Judy
  18. Hi, I recently built a website for a client in Squarespace — the site went live in June this year. Recently, they have approached me informing me of Not-indexed pages showing in their Google Search Console. I submitted the site map back in June. When I click on the sitemaps tab and check the index coverage of the site map, it shows that 74 pages are successfully indexed, and 6 are not. I've since asked the 6 pages to be re-crawled as they hadn't been crawled since the old site was live. These stats don't concern me and I'm happy with everything that is indexed as should be. When I look at the main Pages tab in GSC, however, it shows 96 indexed and 175 not indexed – which concerns me! I haven't come across this issue before and don't have the expertise or vest knowledge to be able to fully determine why this is happening, what's an issue and what isn't, what needs fixing etc. The 6 issues showing are: Alternate page with proper canonical tag: 75 pages Page with redirect: 46 pages Not found (404): 34 pages Excluded by 'noindex' tag: 6 pages Blocked by robots: 3 pages Crawled - currently not indexed: 11 pages A couple of issues = A lot of the pages showing (particularly under the alternate page with proper canonical tag) are not URLs included in the site at all – a lot seem to relate to the blog posts or show a long string of letters/numbers/jibberish at the end of the main URL...? Some of the pages mentioned show URLs from my client's old website, which I'm also finding odd as well I added a lot of custom code to the site so wondering if this has had an impact at all? I'm just a little baffled why the site map pages look fine, but then so many more pages show on the main landing page of GSC. If anyone has experienced this or knows how best to fix these issues, I'd be very grateful as I'm struggling to find any articles or videos that could help me despite endless searching and reaching out to Squarespace. Thank you!
  19. Site URL: https://www.macpierce.com Hello, I’ve had a squarespace website for a long while, and throughout I’ve consistently had the top ranking when searching my name, which is my URL and is across the website. For some reason, in March my website started no longer shows up on google, and only began to appear in results when i used: site:macpierce.com . It appears at top of Bing and DuckDuckGo results, and google search console lists it as appearing just fine. I’ve indexed the site map multiple times, and made sure that my robot.txt doesn’t have anything on it that would remove it from results. I’ve gone through it with squarespace support a total of 4 times now, but they’ve consistently said that it’s an issue on google’s side. I accepted this answer until I started getting submissions through my website’s submissions form, which state that “There are errors in the way your website is coded that are causing your website to not be indexed by google. Please engage our services to help.” I don’t know what to do any longer. My website is the main way that people discover my work, and it’s endlessly frustrating that the main way they usually do so is not working.
  20. Site URL: https://www.thebrattleboro.com/ Hi there, I'm not sure exactly how to word this, but I am wondering if there's anyway to have all my pages be nested under my homepage in Google Search Results. My site is indexed, and I have a site map uploaded, but I want my results to show up neatly organized like the screengrab (Example.png). My site is only showing 1/2 nested pages depending on the search terms. Can anyone advise? Thank you!
  21. Site URL: https://www.cottoncashmerecathair.com/ I have discovered via search console that Google is indexing my archive pages, categories, and tags over individual blog posts, which means my site is not showing up in search results when it should be. How can I tell Google not to index those pages and instead index the blog posts? I read in other posts here that you can inject code, but how do I inject code for pages that aren't in my navigation? I also know about canonical links but they confuse me; is that something I do in search console? How does one go about setting those? Any insight/tips would be much appreciated!
  22. Site URL: https://www.arnaudchabot.com Hello, I transferred my site domain from 7.0 to 7.1. I deleted my old site and my problem is: When I run a site audit, I have redirect problems on all my pages. Is it because I had the same page links on the site in 7.0? I also have errors on pages that are deleted. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance Ps: sorry for my english 😛
  23. Site URL: https://www.chasingwonderful.com/lifestyle/the-importance-of-self-care Hi, Not sure if someone can advise, I'm assuming it may be the pictures or a coding issue but when I index pages from my Squarespace website on Google Console certain pages come back saying they are not mobile-friendly and content is wider than screen. Thanks! - Tracy
  24. Does anyone know how i can remove html file used for Google Search Console verification please? I go to the file manager (where we upload files and set as hyperlinks and that we can remove the files there too) and tried to search for the file name but i cannot find it. Thanks!
  25. Site URL: https://www.potsandpaperbysteph.com/ I have noticed that my website appears differently in google when my business name is searched with and without spaces. When you search 'potsandpaperbysteph' this is what appears: When I google it with spaces, this is what appears: 1. How do I get google to display my site so that my homepage appears first when my name is searched without spaces? 2. How do I get the full list of sitelinks to appear when customers google my name with spaces as they do without? My analytics tell me that my highest search keyword is 'pots and paper by steph' with the spaces so I'd really appreciate it if the my homepage/the sitelinks could show when people google this too! I hope that this makes sense - I'm a total novice and any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂 Thank you!
