  1. I've had my Squarespace website for almost a year, and it's still not ranking at all. I have watched the videos, tried to add keywords into my meta-descriptions and website, but still nothing. I'm at a complete loss and all the advice I've had is to watch videos and figure it out. I feel like I'm throwing my money away and need to get the issues fixed. Help!
  2. With Google axing Universal Analytics on July 1st, it's important you set up GA4 (Google Analytics 4) ASAP. Check out the below video, where I walk you through how to set up Google Analytics 4 on Squarespace 👇 If you like this sort of content, feel free to subscribe for more Squarespace SEO tips and help.
  3. Site URL: https://s72businessportraits.com I added my G4 tracking ID into "External API Keys". I have it configured for both UA and G4 so they both collect at the same time. G4 is collecting data and it's logging purchases but it's not registering the value of those purchases. It recognizes the product being purchased, etc it's just not registering the revenue. UA is seeing the same purchases but correctly registering the revenue (as it always has). Why is G4 not properly recognizing revenue? I attached a couple reports showing this. I've contacted SS support who then say its a Google issue and Google says it's a SS issue since they have no insight into their implementation. I agree with Google on this since they can't control if SS has implemented things properly.
  4. Hi, I am trying to setup google ads conversion tracking on my website. I want to do this in a couple of ways, purchases and also when the 'add to cart' button is clicked. I cannot find where I would put this code as the cart button would not be triggered on the checkout page, like a purchase may. It would seem I can only track purchases, but I am hoping this is not the case. Website domain is www.panelinc.co.uk Thanks, Alex
  5. When my website comes up in Google search, it includes text directly below it - as a site description - from a page that no longer exists. How do i stop it from showing up??
  6. I have implemented correctly formatted structured data/schema markup inside two of my personal website pages, most importantly the About/bio page. The checked and re-checked JSON-LD markup is injected inside the Advanced section of the pages meant for such code. There are no formatting errors in this schema markup, and the code passed muster, too, with Squarespace support, who confirmed it is correct. But I can tell using Google Analytics via the Console set up for the website that after several months of being in there and much re-crawling etc., Google persists in not seeing any of the structured data whatsoever. My structured data is entirely invisible to Google, and I can't figure out why. Zero rich results show up for this data, and also, nothing appears in Enhancements, viz. "No enhancements yet.". Core Web Vitals show "no data". Nothing showing any error(s). It seems impossible to reach anyone at Google on this matter, and of course Squarespace is divorced from the problem. Can anyone out there help me? The pages are: https://www.phoebeeaton.com/bio https://www.phoebeeaton.com/books
  7. Hi, I have realised I need to improve my site's product structured data if I am ever going to get a viable amount of traffic. I also appreciate that my home page needs to be more search friendly but my immediate concern is that Google Search Console, despite having my current sitemap, is listing only 15 valid items of my 84 products on its Product Snippets tool. There are 0 invalid items so I am assuming my unlisted products somehow lack a data structure that helps the 15 products get seen. Any insights on how to get more products listed as valid items would be appreciated.
  8. Hi there everyone, I have recently got an error on my homepage which is stopping the most up to date version of it from being indexed - quite annoying! The version of my homepage that is being indexed is www.baitboxvending.co.uk/ when the one that I require indexing is www.baitboxvending.co.uk/home. Googles indexing 'crawlers' are taking the former url as the canonical url, which means they essentially ignore the /home version. I don't even know where the www.baitboxvending.co.uk/ version came from as none of my pages on the squarespace editor have this url (as far as I can see, I'm no expert). Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and knows how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Best, Leon
  9. Two issues at hand: 1. When I search in Google for "greenhorsellc", the first page that comes up is not my landing page. It is the "Who We Are" informational page. How do I get the top search result to be my actual landing page? 2. Google Console indicates my site is not indexed due to a redirect. How do I address this issue? As far as I can tell, it is only housed in Squarespace and shouldn't be redirected. Thank you all in advance for your assistance.
  10. Hi, I'd like to appear on Google's FAQ "rich results" on my website. I already know how to make an FAQ on a page of my website, but I don't how to make Google understand that it is an FAQ, and that it should appear when people search the questions in my FAQ, aka make my FAQ appear as "structured data" for Google. I understand that I should be injecting CMS, Javascript or Microdata, but I dont know where or how on my Squarespace website. Thanks a lot, Will
  11. Hi, I have a Squarespace website with a Booqable checkout which is embedded using JavaScript. I want Google Analytics 4 to maintain the same cookie for a customer when they enter on Squarespace, then checkout on Booqable. This link says that cross-domain measurement is the way to go - https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/10071811?hl=en. Standard Google analytics works for the Squarespace site, but cross-domain tracking does not - when we go from Squarespace > Booqable, there is no _gl or _ga (cookie) values in the website URL as suggested in the article linked above. However: When we go from Booqable > Squarespace we do get the _gl & _ga values. If we then go from Squarespace back to Booqable, the _gl & _ga values persist. Has anyone been successful setting up something similar? Or have any suggestions on what to do next? Cheers, Dan
  12. Hello, I am trying to track member logins in GA4. I have all other tracking set up except member logins. Here is javascript code for this: dataLayer.push({ 'userId': {{ member_id }} }); I need to get and pass the member ID. 1) How can I get the Member ID upon login using javascript? 2) How can I get the Member ID when members access any page in the members' area? Thank you, C
  13. I published my site without a meta description, so google grabbed random text. I then went in and added a meta description but google is still not showing the correct text. is there a way to get google to update this?
  14. Site URL: https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/serverside Looking for ways to speed the site up.
  15. Site URL: https://ros-management.com/ Hi, I have observed a huge discrepancy between the Squarespace Analytics and the Google Analytics results. Please see the screenshots below. Since the end of August, I am now using GA to compare with Squarespace. However, this is a massive difference with Squarespace reporting 10x more traffic than GA and I can't figure out why. Can anyone explain this? Which results are likely to be more reliable?
  16. Site URL: https://treeoflifemysteryschool.com I need to verify my website with Google. The website is https://treeoflifemysteryschool.com. This use to take about 5 minutes -- simple adding an HTML file to the site's header. Note that the domain name is registered at GoDaddy. Does Squarespace allow the upload of the Google HTML file -- site-wide? I don't want to go into each page and upload the file. This seems like it ought to be easy. At this point, I'm partly just curious. Thank you. Judy
  17. Site URL: http://www.shaadigifting.co.uk Hi I hope I have tagged all the correct tags I have created a squarespace website for my business and have a few questions I hope can be answered The site in squarespace has been published to the correct domain, but when searching the business name in google the website is showing on like page 15 with the default squarespace url e.g https://pumpkin-shallot-hng3.squarespace.com/shop/hampers The second question is, for a new business how can I get the squarespace website to show when googling the business name? When searching the business name, the Instagram isn’t coming up at all nor is the published squarespace website Google search console has been connected and the site has been indexed. But when searching the company name, the Company House details are coming up only and nothing else. Any help is appreciated
  18. Site URL: https://www.macpierce.com Hello, I’ve had a squarespace website for a long while, and throughout I’ve consistently had the top ranking when searching my name, which is my URL and is across the website. For some reason, in March my website started no longer shows up on google, and only began to appear in results when i used: site:macpierce.com . It appears at top of Bing and DuckDuckGo results, and google search console lists it as appearing just fine. I’ve indexed the site map multiple times, and made sure that my robot.txt doesn’t have anything on it that would remove it from results. I’ve gone through it with squarespace support a total of 4 times now, but they’ve consistently said that it’s an issue on google’s side. I accepted this answer until I started getting submissions through my website’s submissions form, which state that “There are errors in the way your website is coded that are causing your website to not be indexed by google. Please engage our services to help.” I don’t know what to do any longer. My website is the main way that people discover my work, and it’s endlessly frustrating that the main way they usually do so is not working.
  19. Hi, My website is using a scheduling block. How do I get the scheduler to send events to GA4 when someone books an appointment? I have set up the integration with GA4 for both my website and scheduling, following the instructions on Squarespace's support site. I am getting events from scheduling when someone goes directly to the scheduling url (the custom url provided by squarespace scheduling). But if someone visits my website, the embedded scheduler doesn't send any events at all. Has anyone managed to get these events to work when using an embedded scheduler (i.e. scheduling block)? Thanks, Aug
  20. Site URL: https://www.auditionplaybook.com/get-the-playbook/ Hi! I am looking for a way to track the number of clicks on certain outbound links on this page: .auditionplaybook.com/get-the-playbook ... Basically, I am curious to see how many people go to Amazon versus Aerio, etc. I've read that there is a way to inject code to track this via my Google Analytics account but I haven't quite figured it out. Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks in advance!
  21. Looking to find a workaround on how to upload a text file to the root of a Squarespace domain, to regain access to a Google Ads account, which won't be granted until this issue is resolved. Things I've tried already: Adding the txt file onto it's ownpage via the Squarespace pageuploader - but the url looks likethis:(www.example.com/s/google-ads.txt) which they did not accept. An external developer tried a similar workaround by remapping thelink(www.example.com/s/google-ads.txt)to redirect to the url they wouldaccept(www.example.com/google-ads.txt),but they also didn't accept this. Here's the Google Ads support email so you can understand what they're asking for and what they don't want. "We have received your Email with a link of the Text file. On checkingthe same Link we found that, the textfile has been created however, pleasebe advised that it has not beenuploaded correctly in the root of theDomain. On clicking the Link sent byyou, we get an option to download thetext file however it should redirectus to the Text file uploaded in theroot of the Website. We are sharingthe steps, please refer below for thesame: Create a .txt file and save itas: Google-Ads.txt Include thefollowing string of text in this textfile: “GooGXXXXXXXXX". Please addinfo@exampleurl.com to Google Adsaccount XXXXXXXX with Admin access -Date 27--2-2019.” Upload this textfile to the root of each of thedomains from which you're requestingaccess. You’ll append"Google-Ads.txt" to the end of yourURL. For example, if your site URL ishttp://www.example.com, the uploadedfile will look like this:http://www.example.com/Google-Ads.txtOnce you have an email domain thatmatches your company domain or haveappended the “Google-Ads.txt” file toyour website (if you do not have anemail domain that matches yourcompany domain), please reply back tothis email with the informationrequested above."After getting in touch with Squarespace directly to see what we could do, they let me know that it is not possible to upload directly to the root domain using the Squarespace built-in platform. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Really need to regain access to Google Ads.
  22. Site URL: https://kinase.co.uk/ Hey everyone, I am interested in adding a data layer to the site so that I can better track the events I have set up in google tag manager. Has anyone done this or know how I can do it? Thank you
  23. Site URL: https://www.relativelygenealogy.com/ I have a new site and was trying to figure out why it's not being indexed properly. I submitted a sitemap on April 23. My pages weren't getting indexed so I had some of the pages manually indexed. Google search console has a message for most of my pages saying that they are indexed but not in the sitemap. If I do a search site:relativelygenealogy.com only 2 pages appear to be indexed. Any suggestions?
  24. Site URL: https://www.eventplanningtemplates.co Hi All I am wondering if anyone knows a work-around to enable Google Ads Enhanced Conversion to work with the Squarespace order confirmation page? Currently, the standard page shows the product purchased and customer email. That is not enough information for google ads 'enhanced conversions'... the full information required is show in the code: <script> var enhanced_conversion_data = { "email": 'customer_email', "phone_number": 'customer_phone', "first_name": 'customer_first_name', "last_name": 'customer_last_name', "home_address": { "street": 'street_address', "city":'city', "region": 'country_code', "postal_code": 'customer_zip', "country": 'customer_country' } }; </script> I've been chatting with Google Ads techs and they don't know, and Squarespace Help Desk says it's not possible. Does anyone know how to make Squarespace transactions work with this? Or is it just not possible? Thanks Rachella
  25. I recently integrated my Squarespace site with Google Analytics, but it looks like it's pulling data from my Squarespace preview URL in the backend of Squarespace, not my live site URL. I know this because every time I visit my site in my Squarespace account and return to the google console, it shows a new user in the last 30 minutes from the exact city I'm in. Did I set it up incorrectly?
