  1. To me now clicking the cog looks more like 7.0 with general page setup/social image, etc. The page edit mode, still gives a great shortcut to many page styles as opposed to the way 7.0 distributes them.
  2. If it is a whole page not just one post simply move it to the unlinked section of your site. It gets moved off the nav bar and can't be found then without knowing the url or there would have to be a link somewhere else on the site like in a summary block. I am doing just that with two summary pages, which allows me to create "two" blog pages as it were. my random views derrick Lee parker
  3. This may be part of content editor access which does not have access to all parts of the site including settings, that level is admin.
  4. You can register additional domains thru squarespace, and then change it to become your primary domain if you wish, however they will both work without doing that. Just go to settings, domains, and then click get a domain. A list of ones that match your present domain will come up with a different extension, like .net, .me, .co, that kind of thing. If you want something totally new, just type it in and SS will look to see if it is available for you. You can also use a third party service like Go Daddy, Tu Cows, or others as well and then point it at your site, that is a bit more complicated but it will work and you may get customized email depending on who you use, which Squarespace does not offer, except thru G Suite.
  5. Just put a space bar above the image and everything will move below it.
  6. If you need any additional help just ask me..
  7. It can happen if you change plans from business to personal, or you had a trial and you chose a personal plan.
  8. Treat it like a map image and use the three points, just like you said. You would need to add a code block to your site where the image is and html code generated by this site: https://www.image-map.net/
  9. Don't know but certainly can't hurt to give it a try. .
  10. If using 7.0 then its simple. Enable the caption under the image, type it in then save. Make sure your text shows up in lightbox, I use the dark background. Then go back edit the image and change to don't show the caption, but don't erase the text, save again. The text will now show only when the image is in the lightbox . I don't know if this works the same for 7.1 but worth a try.
  11. We need to narrow it down a bit: .blog-item-summary-thumbnail-container { pointer-events: none !important; }
  12. Try this in custom css, remove the other code first from blog page. Your hyperlink url is offsite so it makes a bit trickier. .summary-thumbnail-container { pointer-events: none !important; }
  13. I take it you only want the read more to work? Text and images do not link? post this in blog page settings advanced code injection. <style> thumbnail-container { pointer-events: none !important; } <style>
  14. Open setup, Choose your blog page, and one of the posts. Then on the left in the setup menu click design then fonts, then the title of your blog, on the left again open the size menu then choose custom, then use the slider to adjust title size of your blog title, it will not adjust the title of your site, to do that click it and use the same slider. These are global controls.
  15. I gave mine a try, came thru to my gmail.com address just fine. Did you say some gmail addresses are working okay?
  16. You can't password one blog post that is on a page of many. You do have a couple of options, 1. Create a new blog page, with that one post and password the page. 2. Create that post on a regular page, with image gallery and text block and password protect that one page. Using either option above put the new page or blog in the un-linked section of your site.
  17. .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-item { border-right: 4px solid #000000; }
  18. Here are two tutorials on how to make vertical lines. https://thirtyeightvisuals.com/blog/vertical-lines-squarespace https://www.minimist.ca/articles/how-to-make-a-vertical-line-in-squarespace
  19. You have to make the new one your primary domain in settings.
  20. You have to validate your RSS feed url which is your domain followed by the following, as long as you have your blog page slug "blog" /blog?format=rss You paste that into the feedburner field then hit next and you pick a simple button. You get some html code, after that that you paste in your site with a code block. I used feedburner for quite a long time, then it just quit on me. I would show you an example of the button code but many of my blog posts are too large, Feedburner has a file limitation which is why I switched to Follow.it Plus it uses a simple link that I can attach to a text link, or a Squarespace button or an icon image, of my choosing. One other thing, you can't do any RSS setup if your site is password protected, or not live yet.
  21. Not a lot of code, You sign up for a free account, insert a verification code in the advanced header of your blog page (this does require a business plan) or with personal plan use a markdown block in your blog header. Then insert a button, either theirs or your own, add a clickable url to it, that's all. If you want to interface with the squarespace newsletter form, that takes some additional code. I prefer a simple button. When a reader uses it, after clicking my button, they simply choose how they want to get the feed. No code. Another option is to use Google's Feedburner. Its okay, I used it for a long time, but I prefer the look and options for my readers that Follow.it provides. https://feedburner.google.com/
  22. Easiest way is to use a free third party RSS feed. I use Follow It, which used to be called Specific Feeds. You can easily add a button anywhere on your site, and subscribers can choose to get a notification or have the whole blog emailed to them. I play with both but I like the first better. There are other notifications options as well. If you wish to check it out as a potential subscriber look here: https://myrandomviews.com/storysummary
  23. Use a blank page, header and footer hidden, with a full bleed image block as your landing page, give the image a clickable url to a more home like looking page on your site, that has a nav bar,
