duplicate Squarespace 7.1: is there a way to duplicate portfolio collection?

I am using the new squarespace 7.1 and my client wants to have on the nav bar links so people can view what work is pharma and another link to show what's not.
On squarespace 7, we could duplicate the index to the not linked folder and add a link on the top bar connecting to that index page. It was easier for me to do that.

My client wants to keep the thumbnail layout throughout these two subcategories, and I can't seem to find a way to duplicate the portfolio collection nor duplicate a page inside that collection and move to another collection. This is very frustrating to see that squarespace lost a really good tool.

Or am I missing something?

The duplicate page option that is available on all other pages, does not seem available on portfolio collection pages. See attached images.

I was hoping it would point me to the solution. Unfortunately this just verifies the complaint that portfolio collections are not supported with the duplicate tool for some reason. Sub-pages, yes. Portfolio collections, no. 

Sub pages get duplicated inside the same portfolio, so remember you are limited by the portfolio total page count as well. 

With the new members areas and the Portfolio section being  a useful solution to hosting courses and modules, this really needs updating to reflect these changes.

You can use the plugin from Square Websites to copy content within the same site:

@MaryPhilip_ That extension is no longer available. Any other suggestions. The 40 item limit within a portfolio coupled with the inability to copy said portfolio once a user (i.e. me) discovers the limit is beyond infuriating. Any ideas?

@HelloWorldAZ - I hear you, that is frustrating. Sadly it's a case of a manual transfer in that case. 

WHY SQUARESPACE doesn't allow the duplication of portfolio page! WHYYYYYYY??????

Just throwing in my agreement that Portfolios could benefit from two features:

1) The ability to duplicate a portfolio (to maintain styling etc. when adding a new portfolio)

2) The ability to add pagination at say 10, 40, 100 items to exceed the 40-item limit.

Agree with @DV2 that these are features I'd love to see added. They'd make a huge difference for Members Areas! Let's go Squarespace!!!!

Agree with the above. This is pretty annoying. Why it's not available is doesn't make much sense

Thank you for sharing that article. Is this portfolio duplication function on the SS development schedule? And/or has it been logged? With utmost respect to SS and its team members, this missing option is truly infuriating, and my request echos with the rest of the SS users.

I have a financial client and we are trying to use Portfolios to block out different sections of the website for their different member areas. Pushing SS to its limits here. For our sake, it makes WAY more sense to create pages within a portfolio and duplicate said portfolio (adjusting minor thematics accordingly), than to recreate the whole thing over and over again whenever they onboard a new client.

Has anyone else has found a workaround, or have another idea to achieve this? Please chime in. 🙂

Just checked and looks like this has finally been resolved, or at least one part of the problem.

Project duplication has been available for some time. What isn't available is Portfolio duplication.

I need the ability to turn 'off' and 'on' different Portfolio projects (or Items) within a Portfolio. But that functionality does not exist. I tried this solution, but it did not work for me:  

So I thought the work-around would be to duplicate the entire Portfolio, and have that version of the Portfolio not contain the Items I want to hide and make it available to select clients via a link.

But......I cannot duplicate a Portfolio Page!! So frustrating.

Please SquareSpace....this feature request on this thread alone goes back 2 1/2 years.

I hope it will be available soon.

I am so on board with some sort of feature to make the Portfolio work better.  Is there a way to move one project from one portfolio to another?
