  1. Hi all, What do I need to place in custom CSS to disable a css effect only on mobile? I am finding that making the top section sticky upon scroll wigs out on mobile and sort of blinks and also shows the top section through the background of other sections, so I just am going to opt to "disable" it on mobile view. Unless it can be fixed to work OK on mobile?? (FYI: This is the code I am using to make the first section of my homepage sticky and the other sections scroll up and over it.) section[data-section-id="place unique section ID in here"] {position: sticky!important; top: 0px!important} html {scroll-behavior: smooth}
  2. Thank you Grace, that worked for me! Can you tell me how I give the footer links a hover style? I tried this and it is not doing anything: footer#footer-sections a:hover {color: #FE5F30} Likely wrong code, but I'm learning as I go! Thank you!
  3. Hi, Is it possible to specify link hover colors for all active links per section by using a section ID—or per text block using an ID? Some of my section backgrounds have different colors and I need to make exceptions for certain link colors on them. Thanks! JV
  4. Thank you so much! The first one was exactly what I needed (and her video is SO good at explaining how to implement it and how to tweak details). Best, JV
  5. Hi folks! I have a sentence in a text block on my site where I'd like the last word in it to "rotate" through different words. I found a CSS example on the web: https://jsfiddle.net/n5dLdgor/1/ that illustrates exactly what I want to do (although my word will always be at the end of the sentence). Even the style of the transition is what I want. But given that text is in blocks with IDs on Squarespace, I'm wondering how to alter this code to get it to work in Squarespace CSS/Code Injection (especially because it needs to identify and change only the last word in the sentence in the text block). Thanks in advance for your help!
  6. Addendum: my mistake: you CAN change the exact rem size in the content editor for the section, but I still would like to change the font weight and specify paragraph vs. headline styles. - JV
  7. Hello, I'd like to know how to change the font weight and size (beyond global styles) of the "titles" (captions) under the "items" (images) in a Section I added called "Portfolio". (see screen shots) Thanks in advance! -JV
  8. Hi folks, In 7.1, I added an image carousel to my page by selecting Add Section > Portfolio > and then chose the option with a horizontal row of images with the previous and next arrows on either side (see screen shot). I was wondering if there is a way to add a type of "pagination"/indicator dots below the carousel to indicate how many images are in the carousel and which one they are viewing? (see screen shot for example). Thanks in advance! JV
  9. OK, on a lark I decided to remove the word "strong" and that fixed it!
  10. replaced with my specific block ID, and played around with the font weight to no change once saved.
  11. #block-yui_3_17_2_1_1624213308747_3371 strong {font-weight: 400 !important} From this Forum Post:
  12. Hi all, I searched for this and could not find something specific to my question: I want to change the font weight of individual text blocks via block ID and can't seem to get the code right. (I don't like the Bolding option provided in the styling menu that you get by <pencil icon> editing the text block. And you are just stuck with one font weight for all headers and one for all paragraphs!) Thanks in advance!
  13. So, I know that is a common ask on here, but I don't want to publicly share a URL to a site that is not public/published yet. Is there any other way?
  14. Hello! I'd like to be able to use the folder structure for pages so that the section name (in this case, "Work") is underlined when you go to individual project pages. But I do not want that to result in the drop-down menu from that section name in the main nav (the menu will be too long because they are projects in a portfolio). So I think I'd need to: In the Pages section, add a Folder and call it "Work" and add all individual project pages into it (Done) Make that folder name clickable in the main nav so it goes to a Work landing page (Saw a post about that here already) Remove the drop-down menu from the main nav ( I will ink to individual projects from images on the Work landing page. (Need help with this) Thanks for your help!
  15. Ah, Ok! I misinterpreted that part. Thought you just meant to create a blank section. Didn't realize you could combine 7.1 and classic things. Thanks!
  16. Did some searching and the reason I do not see an option to add a caption (or Inline) is because I am using Fluid Engine /7.1 (mentioned that above). Word is, I can manually add captions with a text block anywhere I want, which is fine by me, but I need updated code that will hide those until the hover state. I think you place the captions behind the image once you have them where you want them and the code does the rest. But... I need the right cod to achieve this 🙂 JV
  17. Hi, I can't seem to get this to work. And noting here that my options look different than the screen shots of the interface you are showing above. To try to improvise, I chose "Overlay" as the design option since I don't see anything about choosing "Inline" in the image block options. When I add an image in the content editor for the image block, I don't see an option to add an Image Caption at all. Only the " Alt text". So I tried placing my test copy in the alt text spot in case things have changed: Then I added your code in Design > CSS and nothing happens after I save. No hover states at all. Plus the color overlay is on the image by default. Any thoughts on the discrepancy here? Thanks! JV
  18. Hi, I'd like to create hover states over image blocks as shown on this site (likely not an SS site): https://native.com/work/overview I had found the image Zoom-on-hover code, but also want to add a hex color overlay over the entire image (and control its opacity level) and then add text on top of that. Using 7.1 / Fluid Engine. Thanks in advance! JV
  19. Can you replace the word black with a hex value? I tried it and t doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a way to customize the header background color change (other than black in this example)?
  20. @ZiggyFantastic, thank you! Found your coffee link 😉 Coming soon. OK, so I made two text blocks with text in each and changed the p to h3. Seems to look great! Is there anything else needed? On my end, I'll just need to repeat this for the Services pages, adding the 2 block IDs in each to code. JV
  21. Yes, absolutely. Why Squarespace doesn't have a simple approach to ruled lists is beyond me!
  22. @ZiggyThank you, that added the line to the text block itself, so the lines wrap with the text! However, because it insists on adding space below the text in the text block, the spacing between text and lines is less than desired. Is there a way to resolve this text box height issue? (see screenshots for explanation).
  23. ...And to add-- even if I choose a smaller type size, the text block it still takes up the height of two grid rows.
