  1. Typically, A records like that are used for connecting to a mail server. If you're using Google Workspace and you aren't intentionally pointing the "mail" subdomain to another service or site, they should be safe to remove. If it helps, the site ipinfo.io shows that the IP addresses in your screenshot are both associated with CloudFlare, though I don't see them listed in CloudFlare's documentation. You could reach out to Cloudflare and double-check if they recognize the records.
  2. Hey @Letlynx, you should have an email with a temporary password that you'll use to log into your new Google Workspace account for the first time. After logging in you can set your own password to use moving forward.
  3. This seems like the best solution for what you're asking about! You're right that GSC will show a lot of errors that don't really impact SEO for Squarespace sites. Essentially, GSC is built for sites that are custom-built from the ground up, not sites that are built on a content management system like Squarespace. Since GSC isn't built to read the Squarespace-specific setup, it doesn't really have the correct notifications built-in, either. In other words, GSC is doing its best but it gets a little confused sometimes. If it helps, Squarespace has a list of some common GSC errors: Understanding Google SEO emails and console errors
  4. Hi @Bridgettela - Usually that error means there's a conflicting DNS record. If your domain has a domain forwarding rule, make sure to remove that. Otherwise, if your domain has a set of "Squarespace default" records in the DNS settings, remove those and then try adding your new DNS records. Here's the Squarespace guide with steps - Pointing a Squarespace domain to a non-Squarespace site
  5. Hello! If you have a Squarespace domain, you should be able to use email forwarding to send emails to your existing Google Workspace account email address, like you suggested. You're right that email forwarding through Squarespace is only available for Squarespace domains, though, not for third-party domains that are managed through Squarespace. You could also add your new domain to your existing Google Workspace account. You'd add the domain through Google and you'd also need to add the Google Workspace MX records to the domain. Here's Google's guide: Add a user alias domain or secondary domain The main difference is that adding the domain to your Google Workspace account will let you send and receive emails using that domain. Email forwarding will only let you receive emails sent through that domain. Since Squarespace requires that customers with existing Google Workspace accounts continue managing the account through Google, I don't think you'll see any changes with that service after the domain moves to Squarespace. The only significant change is that you'll log into Squarespace to manage the domain instead of Google Domains.
  6. Oh weird! Have you been able to move it? Is the new site on a paid subscription already?
  7. Hello @ateliermima - If you're seeing the "Pending domain verification" message, it usually means that the CNAME record Squarespace uses for verification is either missing or hasn't been added incorrectly. Here are a few quick troubleshooting steps that might help: If you're moving a domain between Squarespace sites, check that you followed the steps in this guide: Moving a third-party domain to another Squarespace site If your domain supports Nameserver Connect and DNS Connect, make sure that you know which connection method you used when adding the domain to your site's Domains panel. Then make sure that the domain's settings are changed accordingly: Nameserver Connect vs DNS Connect For Nameserver Connect, this means that your domain is using Squarespace nameservers. If you added the domain using this method, you should see the option to edit your DNS records through Squarespace. You should also see the Squarespace Defaults preset in the DNS settings. For DNS Connect, you won't see the option to edit the domain's DNS records through Squarespace. You might see "View DNS Settings" if there are missing or incorrect DNS records. If you just connected the domain and all of the settings are correct, give the connection a bit more time : ) As much as the internet is a speedy place, when you edit a domain's DNS settings the changes typically don't update immediately.
  8. Hello all! The "Domain not claimed" error means that the domain is pointing to Squarespace, but hasn't been added to the Domains panel of a Squarespace site. There are a couple of things to double-check: Make sure the domain is added to the Domains panel of the site. This is essentially how the site "claims" the domain. If you're moving a domain between Squarespace sites, check that you followed the steps in this guide: Moving a domain to another Squarespace site If your third-party domain supports Nameserver Connect and DNS Connect, make sure that you know which one you're using when adding the domain, and that the domain's settings are changed accordingly: Nameserver Connect vs DNS Connect For Nameserver Connect, this means that your domain is using Squarespace nameservers. Hopefully some of this helps!
  9. I'm curious if creating a .gif of the slideshow, then adding it to an image block or as a background might work. If you use the image block, you would layer the other content like your busienss name and tagline on top: Set content alignment and overlap
  10. Moving to Squarespace can definitely be a bit of an adjustment. I'd make sure that your domain's DNS settings match the requirements in Squarespace's guide for connecting to Google Sites: Connecting a Squarespace-managed domain to Google Sites In this case, make sure the A record has been added since this relates to your root domain: Type: A Host: @ Data: 198.185.159.144 Squarespace support can always troubleshoot the domain with you, too! Their live chat hours have been kind of spotty lately, but you can submit an email ticket to them all the time: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic They also offer some support on social media if you're in a pinch or you're not hearing back from anyone.
  11. If you need to add a TXT record for a Google Site, you can add it in the Custom Records section using the steps in this guide: Adding TXT records to a Squarespace-managed domain Squarespace support can always help you add the record, too! https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
  12. You should be able to check the site-specific records in each site’s Settings > Domains & Email > Domains > cambridge.monumentcycling.com panel. If you don't see the option to view DNS settings, try adding /dns-settings after your domain at the end of the URL in the web address bar. That said, if you don't see a "View DNS Settings" option, that usually means all of the DNS records were added correctly. Otherwise, you'd see an error message and the option to view details. The DNS settings for cambridge.monumentcycling.com all look right in the Google Admin Toolbox to me. I think there’s been a problem with SSL certificates taking a while, so if you’re still having trouble it would probably be worth reaching out to Squarespace support: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
  13. This might be related to a known issue mentioned in this thread:
  14. Hey @NumberNine - You can safely remove and then re-add the MX records without risk to your Google Workspace account. MX records ("mail exchange" records) are only used to connect the domain with the email provider's servers, allowing them to "communicate". However, you might experience a little downtime after removing and re-adding the MX records while the records update. This means there could be a brief window where you're not able to send or receive emails. The downtime probably wouldn't last long since you'd be adding the same records, though, if it happens at all.
  15. Google Workspace can turn into a bit of a tangled mess sometimes, that’s for sure! I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of this. First, make sure that any domains you use with Google Workspace include Google Workspace's MX records (aka "mail exchange" records). These are the records that allow you to send and receive emails using the domain: Adding Google Workspace MX records When you have multiple domains connected to a Google Workspace account, it can be a little confusing to manage through Squarespace. Here are a few important notes: You can only manage a single Google Workspace account through a site's Google Workspace panel. Only the primary domain will show in the Google Workspace panel. If you change the primary domain, you may still see the original domain in Squarespace. When that happens, you can fix it by logging into your Google Admin console and change the domain for each user: Google Documentation New users will always use the primary domain by default. Creating a user for a secondary domain requires specific steps: Adding a user with a secondary domain If your domain is already linked to a Google Workspace account in Google, whether you created it or not, you won't be able to sign up again in Squarespace Ultimately, it might be helpful to reach out to Squarespace support for this one because they'll be able to look at more of the current settings with you: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
