  1. At what point does putting this sort of blurb in the Help area just become completely ludicrous?
  2. I reverted to the original code for that page. Does there need to be something that tells the current SVG (John) to be replaced with the alternate one (Lisa)?
  3. OK great! If you go to the page now, I've substituted the other SVG I want to use on that page. How can I make it be the same size as the SVG (JohnWeber) which is used everywhere else on the site? And thanks for the help!
  4. Here's the link: SVG test You can see the current SVG by clicking on any of the navigation links. The replacement SVG in the page in question is the same size as the one used throughout the site. Note that when it's seen online, nothing is showing where the SVG should be. In the Squarespace work area, I at least see it small:
  5. I should add that the URL in the code above was changed to an SVG image on my site.
  6. I would like to change the SVG logo I'm using in the header to a different one on certain pages. I found this code: <style> header#header img { content: url(https://www.google.com/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_272x92dp.png); } </style> That changes the logo, but the SVG comes in tiny on the page. I figure since using an SVG in general requires more in CSS than just replacing what's there, I'm obviously missing some code I need to use.
  7. Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I thing there are a few issues with the Flex layout and mobile devices. In my situation, the iPad is actually showing the desktop version of the site due to the iPad resolution. And the iPad is being rotated to horizontal to view the site more like it looks in a desktop browser. So the issues discussed in the video are similar, but the pixel range (vertical dimension) given for the fix don't really affect the desktop version being shown in my situation (horizontal dimension). I'll keep investigating.
  8. I've done a little more experimenting. The iPad is using the desktop version of the Squarespace site. If I use the Squarespace design area in Desktop view, the top section with the elements is 25 rows deep. If I shrink the whole browser/design window and make it the size of what I'm seeing on the iPad, the rows increase to 37. Also note how the grid size squares are different below the photo. The section seems to expand because of what is happening with the photo box getting larger: When I make that photo box smaller, I can then decrease the rows back to 25. This remedies the issue with the gap in the iPad viewing size. Except...in the full desktop view, the text box all of a sudden expands vertically: If I reduce the size of the text box back to where it should be, It reverses what I previously did with the photo box and the gap on the iPad is back to where I started. Something goofy must be going on with how the Flex areas and content are reacting to different screen sizes. Maybe if there was a way to not have the bounding box of the photo expand so much, it might not throw the rows off so much.
  9. On a phone, yes. The example screenshots with the weird space above are from an iPad. There the space changes. Unfortunately Squarespace shows us the option of what sites look like on a small mobile device, but not an iPad.
  10. I set up a page where 2 sections are stacked. The top one has an image and text blocks. The bottom on has a gallery. On a desktop browser these sections are close together without any extra space. Which is what I want. But on some mobile devices (an iPad) the space between the sections gets a lot larger. Is there a way to control this? I see the area which seems to be the issue, but I don't know what code would work. I don't see any padding info when inspected. Thanks for any advice. http://tinyurl.com/yumdys6v
  11. I have not, but I will. I wanted to make sure others saw it as well.
  12. Why does the CSS window when chosen to "Open in New Window" now get limited to a small window size? It used to be that if the window were expanded, the code would flow to the new size. Now it seems to be limited to the original window size when the option is first chosen. I've tried this in multiple browsers with the same result. So now on a large monitor we're limited to basically a laptop size window? Really fun with a lot of code. Is this a bug or a "feature"?
  13. You're kidding, right? Importing metadata from images into a Gallery section has been broken for a couple of years now. I've had to go into hundreds of images and paste captions (Descriptions) because importing doesn't work. I've had multiple conversations with Squarespace and they know it, but apparently don't want to fix it.
  14. They should really take this import option off the Settings. They obviously aren't going to fix the issue.
  15. Here is another thread about the broken metadata importing function. It has also been discussed in other ones as well. I hope a thread here might make the support team pay more attention to this issue. Their responses in the past have been boiler-plate non-helpful about actually fixing the problem. Every time I receive a promotional email touting something new I think "great, how about dealing with the broken things first".
  16. Did you ever figure this out? I’m interested in having links in some of my Lightbox captions.
  17. Here's the latest Tech Support answer: I understand your frustration here, however, I'm afraid the advisors are not involved in the process of bug fixes and feature fixing so we are unable to provide additional information regarding this including timeline as much as I would like to. You're welcome to continue checking in on this. If there's anything else we can do, please let us know. Which begs the question, if I can't get an answer from (Tech Support) exactly what would be the point of me checking in again with them? So stupid. But on the other hand I keep getting emails about new features. 😏
  18. I've submitted multiple bug reports now and have had email replies from Support. Apparently not a big deal. To me it is after cutting and pasting all these captions. Currently, our engineers are still looking into this issue with the metadata not importing in gallery sections, so I don't have any updates to provide. With that said, I hear what you're saying, and can absolutely understand where you're coming from. We also want you to have the smoothest experience while using Squarespace, and when unexpected issues come up I can definitely recognize it can impact that experience.
  19. Having a portfolio of gallery pages with images, I thought adding a video in sequence to the images in a gallery would be a no-brainer. Guess not. Can't believe this was an option that was dropped.
  20. Thanks for checking up. I finally did solve the problem of the code flashing by changing it's color by adjusting the Paragraph Medium choice in the color palette I'm using for the background. This makes the code the same as the background color. The gap issue cause by the code was solved by making the code all one line instead of stacked. Markdown did not work though. The <style> tags were needed.
