Hello guys!
Please do something to add iDeal to your payment methods. Stripe supports it, yet it is not yet available on your part. You have just integrated Dutch as a language to your sites, please add the payment system as well as we're waiting for this for YEARS now.

Bump
I can't offer the 100% discount code because I also have other codes to offer on my products.
The more I use squarespace, the more I am getting really fustrated on the lack of shipping, local delivery and store options. It's lacking and we're in 2022! Covid should have the squarespace team implement better options!

Unfortunately, I've read so many times here that SS doesn't really read the forums. If you want a feature or something, you will have to log a ticket with their customer care support. Frankly, I'm surprised SS ignores so much of what's going on in this forum because it's a HOTBED of insights as to what their customers want and need, and how they can make their platform, especially the Commerce plan, so much better. They market themselves as giving you the tools to create beautiful websites easily -- and I agree with that...my site/store is so much better than any of my previous stores BUT if you look under the hood, it falls short compared with competitors like Shopify. So many things on the backend that could be fixed/improved/added that would make Squarespace a truly great e-commerce platform, but unfortunately, from what I've observed, they seem to be in their own world.

It's disappointing that there's no movement on this issue. Our store accepts credit cards but some longtime customers prefer to send us a check. Telling them to use a discount code is beyond hokey. The Wishlist plugin doesn't help me because we DO take payments online as well.

Anyway, Squarespace is asking us an opinion about their payment methods. I suggest you all add this request in there, maybe after years of "we will suggest our team" they will actually listen

I have a Premium Package. I need a way to simply invoice my customers allowing them to submit the order and pay me offline. I am very good at coding (HTML & JavaScript), but it appears that is not possible in the checkout page. How can invoices be sent out allowing me to collect payment offline?

Ohh! didn't think of this tactic.
Just edit my website to do the category method and it works!
Thanks!

You can add these two products to a second category, for example "Offers" and then apply a discount to the "Offers" category.

Hey there,
Similarly to everyone in this thread, we are a chocolate wholesaler wanting to receive orders and charge customers later. We sell retail that can be processed and charged immediately, but our problem currently is with the wholesale side of our business (these are two seperate stores on our site). We cannot use Squarespace in any capacity to properly calculate shipping to distributors because we cannot factor in cooling. If we could mark up each store's shipping differently, I don't think we would have this problem, but one shipping markup across the whole site doesn't make sense.
That being said, we would love to still let our wholesale customers place their orders through the site like anyone else; however, we don't want to charge them at the time they submit or without correct shipping charges. What we need is to receive their order almost like a form, while still having the products, details, and options interactive in the Wholesale "store."
If we could use a button at checkout only for the Wholesale store where customer orders are sent to us but we then call them to process payments with shipping, when they do ship, that would be amazing. I feel this is really common for many wholesalers, large or small - is there a solution?
If we list the products as a gallery and include a form below, this obviously takes a lot of clicks, isn't any easier than calling us directly, and requires customers to type out their large orders, which could easily include errors. We'd love for them to still have a "cart" but pay later through us.
Is there an integration where we can use a less-limited cart than what Squarespace currently offers?
Thanks so much!! Been really struggling with this issue

hasher22 reacted to AllMagickalThings in Does Squarespace have any current plans to partner with any customer payment plan providers like Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, etc...?
While I appreciate devs like yourself coming up with an option, for my small business, its simply not cost effective to run both a squarespace site and a shopify backend. Its even less realistic for a small business like mine is to pay shopify's mid-tier pricing to get the functionality to use these features.

(Un)fortunately there was nothing for me to solve, it was a bug on Squarespace's end. The email I got from the support team confirmed as much. The good news is it looks like they've sorted it out!
I had to put up a new page for our New Year's Eve menu today and tried throwing in a little html/markdown just as a test and it rendered correctly.
@mattgyver I don't know if you got a response between the 16th and now, but it would be worth checking your page to see if your menu formatting is now displaying correctly! I dropped a screenshot in from a chunk of my breakfast menu - font color, text weight/style, line breaks, and links are all working as they should 👍

hasher22 got a reaction from Deez in Delivery confined to postcode or area
Site URL: https://onyxhive.com.au
I have submitted feedback to Squarespace as SS needs to implement area or postcode shipping rates. I am in Australia and I need flexibility to deliver my products within a distance or postcode with custom shipping rates automatically.
For example:
Shipping within 5km is free
Shipping within 5-10km is 10 dollars
Shipping 10km+ is 15 dollars.
OR
The user (me) manually puts in the postcodes in the back end and the delivery postcode or address the customer enters will determine the shipping price automatically upon checkout.
So if I enter postcodes 2000 through to 2050 and a customer enters their delivery address as 2001, then shipping will be X dollars.
I don't understand why this isn't implement yet, this is costing me alot of sales and I have seen similar threads too.
Please implement this. I have seen smaller hosting websites that has this feature and it's a godsend feature. For a massive platform such as SS, I dont understand why they only implement such limited shipping features.

hasher22 reacted to RobPegurri in Delivery confined to postcode or area
This is ridiculous! We pay the full amount every year but essential features (such as this one) are limited to US and Canada. Why?? Just give the possibility to manually insert the ZIP codes if you don't have a database available. Simple and fast.

We're hoping to implement delivery zones for our local independent florist in Australia, any update on this? Can squarespace confirm if this is on the roadmap for future improvements. I've logged a ticket on this.
I know we would be able do this woo-commerce or shopify and coming up with more and more issues as our business grows that make us think it might be time to make the switch.

Just wanted to drop a message here that after years of users requesting it, per-product shipping is still not available.
The shipping options on Squarespace are entirely bias towards US customers and are a nightmare for anyone outside of the US.
Why is Squarespace so against per-product shipping!?

hasher22 reacted to theclosetexperience in Afterpay/Stripe Payment went into "uncaptured"
I have been experiencing the same issue with Afterpay. Here is the reply I received from Stripe...Waiting on Squarespace to respond to the Stripe email I forwarded them.
Hi Qiana,
Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. Let me send you a recap of the conversation we just had.
I understand that you are having some issues with Afterpay payments being canceled some hours after they are done, so I was checking in your payment logs and it looks like your third party integration with Squarespace is using Auth and capture with those kind of payments.
This option allows you to authorize a payment, which places a temporary hold on the funds without actually capturing them -- you will have the option to capture the authorized funds (or any partial amount) anytime within seven days of creating the authorization. If the charge is not captured within this time, the authorization will be dropped and funds released.
If this is something that you’d like to explore further, you can find out more here:
https://stripe.com/docs/payments/capture-later
https://stripe.com/blog/auth-capture
While Stripe does support auth and capture, it looks like you’re creating payments with the help of Squarespace. Since they’ve built your integration with Stripe, they would be best suited to you figure out why they are canceling your authorizations and why they are even createing authorizations with auth and capture for payments created through their system.
You can get in touch with Squarespace through their support page:
https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new#choose-topic
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you in the meantime, I'll be happy to help you.
Kind regards,
David

That's exactly what I did. I am running a discount that includes a free product when purchasing a specific product. To do so, I've created a 0,01€ discount for the product.
That creates quite a big problem with inventory but at least it works. Of course Squarespace should completely re-build their discount code options. Writing to their customer service of course does not help...

hasher22 reacted to GDEE51 in Item specific shipping options
Face it, Squarespace for some odd reason doesn't really care about the ecommerce side....so many limitations and workarounds you have to do. Perhaps they don't have the capability to invest....losing market share to shopify?? After 5 years, I'm almost ready to do the switch. Postage is a huge problem, more than ever, and no flexibility available on the build.

Just joining the thread.
My client offers free shipping for all her products (wedding dresses, thousands). But shes just introduced a couple smaller things that she needs to add postage to..
As the rest of the store is free shipping, I'm only going to add weight to the products needing a cost and then add them that way.. but very messy!

hasher22 reacted to dhob in What do you wish you'd known before launching your online store?
I wish I'd known that Squarespace would put me out of business by removing core functionality from the 7.1 commerce platform without any warning. Like almost all artists, my work exists in the form of portfolios, with each piece living within a larger body of work. I relied on Pagination in the Product Detail pages of the 7.1 commerce engine for the "previous" and "next" links that allowed viewers to move between individual works in my portfolios. Squarespace removed Pagination on Product Detail pages from the 7.1 platform without any warning, despite that it had been a core part of the commerce engine carried straight through from the 7.0 platform. Every competing platform offers Pagination on Product Detail pages, including Squarespace 7.0 even. Without it, I was instantly put out of business, as each piece became a dead end road. After six months of trying every possible way to solve the problem, I finally had to shut down my 7.1 site. This is a huge blow to me personally, but it's hard to see how it benefits Squarespace when every artist, craftsperson, or businessperson wants to make it as easy as possible for buyers to see and navigate through all the products they have on offer. Even more troubling is the fact that Squarespace has now shown that they can and will remove core functionality that your business depends on at any time and without any warning. I paid Squarespace to help put me in business, and instead I got put out of business. I've been a huge fan and longtime user of Squarespace, but I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.
