@tuanphan - thanks so much for this. This is definitely working for me in 7.1. Well done.

Expand Dropdown Menu By Default on Mobile (Page View)
spinsterdesign replied to OmerOdemis's topic in Customize with code
@tuanphan - this code for 7.1 works! Thanks so much. I'll need to see if I can tweak the CSS to make the mobile menu not full-screen/full height (which may be controlled by js), as this splash screen menu is not that functional to encourage scrolling down to content on each page. But I really appreciate this. Thank you. -
Hi, @tuanphan. No, I don't mean expand that submenu for Metalworks. I mean keep the main navigation menu expanded as a default on mobile (rather than having people click on the + or hamburger lines to expand the menu). What we've found as a workaround is to create a manual header--logo or title, with text section of links beneath that (which we make a saved section) that we add to pages and disable the header on those pages. The downside to this is that any later changes to the menu need to then manually be made on all pages. So this isn't ideal.

@GPGDesigns - did you ever find a working solution for this? I've tried 2 different coding solutions posted in the forum, and neither seems to work on my 7.1 test site at https://sdibeta.squarespace.com/gallery (pwd: anyone).

Code to make gallery single column in mobile view
spinsterdesign replied to matthewhodges's topic in Customize with code
@tuanphan - Thanks for this code for a stacked 1-column mobile view for Masonry galleries, which works great! However, I, too, am looking to make the images go full width on mobile. The spacing is otherwise very awkward-looking and uneven, as masonry grids allow for images of varying dimension ratio's--portrait, landscape, square, etc. Making them all full-width would make these uniform, just with varying heights. Please see https://sdibeta.squarespace.com/gallery (pwd: anyone) on mobile: I'm unsure how to target width here, since inspecting the CSS, the mobile masonry item (.gallery-masonry-item) is already set to a width of 100% in your code, but this is being overridden somehow. -
jim23 reacted to a post in a topic: Code block too tall and bloating its section height (7.1, Fluid Engine)
-
Just to be clear: when I test adding a new blank section and take the rows/height down as low as I can and add a blank code block ("Hello, World!"), the lowest we can possibly get a blank code block is 6 rows high. Given that we can make text blocks only 1 row high: this is not acceptable. It's frustrating, because while we know that Squarespace does not support custom code, they should be supporting how an empty code block behaves.

Site URL: https://not-yet-live.com Using 7.1, Fluid Engine: I need to use a code block at the bottom of the site footer, as I want to use scripting to dynamically display the current year in the copyright. Apparently the code block is still quite tall. The section it's in is set to "small" and I cannot have fewer than 9 rows in the section (!) when the code block is in it (this is the only block in this section). This leaves lots of empty space beneath, which is really not ideal in a footer bar/copyright line. CSS targeting the block to remove padding will not override this, and I believe this is because the section is reading the code block as requiring 9 rows. This section started out as 6 rows, and dragging the section bottom drag bar up to minimize the height actually added 3 rows that nothing will remove. (I certainly can't edit the rows value manually, it is overwritten by 9.) FYI, the code block itself only contains 2 lines of code. This seems buggy. Anyone encounter this?

Site URL: https://not-yet-live.com My client is looking to set up a survey/poll where the email field is required and people can only submit once per email addy. Is there any way to do this natively in Squarespace, or will we need to use a 3rd party solution instead? She does have a connected Mailchimp account, but is looking to create this as a survey that's open to the public and not limited to a specific audience (MC surveys are limited to a specific audience). TIA.
