Limiting form submissions: one entry per email address (surveys/polls)

My client is looking to set up a survey/poll where the email field is required and people can only submit once per email addy. Is there any way to do this natively in Squarespace, or will we need to use a 3rd party solution instead? 

She does have a connected Mailchimp account, but is looking to create this as a survey that's open to the public and not limited to a specific audience (MC surveys are limited to a specific audience).

SS has very minimal data validation. Nothing beyond making sure required fields are filled and field types are correct.

It might be possible to pass the form into Zapier or Google Sheets to filter out duplicate submissions. I'm not aware anyone that has done this.
