mariadelamo Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) I'm trying to manage one calendar of events. The "Events" pages on SS can be a little intimidating for some people so I would like to have people update events in a platform that is more familiar to them. If I could find a way of embedding Facebook Events into a page, that will solve all the problems. Then the client will have to just update Facebook. Edited July 31, 2019 by MariaD Initial Revision
ASiegersMusic Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Hi Maria, I'm looking for the same solution. Did you find something? Thanks! jaisequoia 1
Rdaconnect Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 ASiegersMusic ~ Thank you for reviving this issue. I'm also scouting for some easier way for clients to update their own calendar or events on Squarespace. If I find anything out there I'll add a note to this thread. ~ Rebecca A. jaisequoia 1
Solution JOHNMD Posted January 5, 2020 Solution Posted January 5, 2020 If you have Facebook Account Admin Access Facebook should allow you to generate the required Event Page code (see link below). Back In Squarespace, add an 'Embed' Block to a page. In the 'Embed' Editor hit the '<>'on the right-hand side. Copy and Paste the code from FB to the 'Embed' editor. Click set. You may get a message saying something like 'live stream not available in Edit mode', so hit save. And I'd expect the Facebook feed to be on your page. If I'm overlooking something let me know. It's a good idea. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin/ DowntownCH 1 mcgouran.john@gmail.com
DowntownCH Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Thanks @JOHNMD, I changed the "tab" field to events and got great embed code. Now I just need to go post it. Thanks!
Lauren55 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Hello. Trying to integrate my Facebook Event Page into my Squarespace site. Squarespace says they don't offer an integration with FB. My web guy found one but it only shows the graphic on the top event & then just lists the events. We really need the graphics to be there. Has anybody used a plug-in or a code that works? Thank you!! Lauren
hiebj Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 there are two solutions for this that I can think of. One is easier. 1. use one of the components Facebook provides as a code block drop-in. but if you don't like the way it looks/works, there's not much you can do about it.https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin/ 2. Get your Facebook events synced into a Squarespace Collection. This would allow you to use any of the components you're familiar with (calendar, summary) to render the events on different pages of your site. At the moment, this requires a developer website and someone who knows what they're doing. I'm hoping I can do this for a site I'm building, and if I'm successful I'll try and make it into a plugin.https://developers.squarespace.com/collections Annalea 1

The discrepancy between Squarespace's templates and FB's feed code borders on horrifying . . . lol

joeystephensmusic Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 When I copy paste the code from https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin/ all that comes up is "Joey Stephens". When clicked it does go to the events page on my fb page, however, i'd like squarespace to show the picture. Advice?
