  1. Hi @mtsman, I'm glad to help you. Yes, Collaborate is right—Squarespace automatically handles canonical tags for pages. I've checked, and your built-in domain is private and not indexed. If you have a custom domain, you can work on it. I hope this helps! If you've further questions, feel free to ask! Thanks, Sadul Sifat
  2. Hi @Modcity, I'm glad to help you. Thank you for sharing the reference URL. Yes, you can hide the page using the following code: <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> This code tells search engines not to index or follow the page. Simply add it to the header of the page you want to hide. Feel free to reach me if you've any further questions. Best wishes, Sadul Sifat
  3. Hi @rasmusarentsen, Yes! I also faced this issue with website page speed. Optimizing website speed, especially on platforms like Squarespace, can be challenging since there’s no direct way. Thank you for sharing your experience. Thanks, Sadul Sifat
  4. Hi @Mink2124, I'm glad to help you out here. When moving your site from Jimdo to Squarespace and changing your domain name, it's important to manage the transition carefully to maintain your search rankings and ensure a smooth user experience. Below, I've added a few insights that might be helpful: As you mentioned, your Jimdo subscription expires soon, so you didn't keep active your old website? As an SEO this is not recommended. Because you will be lost any traffic or backlinks. However, I'm sharing a few options: Keep your old domain and set up 301 redirects from the old domain to the new one. This way, any traffic or backlinks pointing to your old domain will redirect users to your new site. If you transfer your old domain to Squarespace, you can manage all aspects of your site in one place. This also allows for easier setup of redirects and management of DNS settings. You can read these articles: https://www.squarespace.com/blog/how-to-transfer-a-domain-to-squarespace https://domains.squarespace.com/transfer-a-domain 301 Redirects in Squarespace To set up 301 redirects, you need access to both the old and new domains. If you want to keep your old domain temporarily, you can transfer it to Squarespace or keep it registered with Jimdo until you're ready to switch completely. Setting Up Redirects: In Squarespace, you can set up 301 redirects by: Going to Settings > Developer Tools > URL Mappings. Entering the old URL followed by the new URL using the format: /old-url -> /new-url 301. Save your changes. You can watch this video: https://youtu.be/XkFcD9EukBY Note: that redirects can only be set for URLs on the same domain unless you have access to both domains' DNS settings. I hope this helps! If you need more clarification, please feel free to ask! Thanks, Sadul Sifat
  5. Hi @RobSah, Thank you for getting back to me. I'm glad to hear that this issue isn't showing up. So yes, does this happen due to the search intent? Could I kindly ask you for a quick favor? Would you mind recommending this post if this comment has helped you? Best regards, Sadul Sifat
  6. Hi @rasmusarentsen, I'm glad to help you. Below, I've added a few insights that might be helpful: In Squarespace, there's no direct way to fix page speed, but we can optimize it using various methods: Keep images below 250 KB. Consider using tools like Adobe Photoshop to compress images without losing quality. Limit your gallery to 50 pages and avoid using excessive GIFs and animations. Limit the number of web fonts used on your site to speed up loading times. Stick to web-safe fonts like Arial, Courier New, and Verdana. You can Reduce the number of YouTube or Vimeo videos embedded on your site. If necessary, use custom thumbnails to prevent large files from being downloaded. Remove Custom Code: Eliminate unnecessary custom code, third-party embedded codes, and code injections to speed up your site. Disable Unnecessary Add-ons: Remove extensions and plugins that are not essential. If your site is on version 7.0 and your template supports it, enable Ajax loading. Ajax makes page loading appear quicker and seamless. It's ideal for content-heavy pages, such as blog pages and gallery pages. You can check squarspace’s article: Reducing your page size for faster loading. I hope this helps. If you've any further questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, Sadul Sifat
  7. Hi @jasontodd220, Happy to help. Below, I've added a few solutions that might be helpful: If this is a new website, it's common for newly published websites to take some time to appear in search results. You can use the URL Inspection Tool on Google Search Console to perform live tests for the pages and submit indexing requests while doing the live tests. It will help refresh the data in the search results. Check out this video: URL Inspection Tool Check out this video: You Google Search Console Guide (+ Tips & Tricks) You can implement website structure datamarkup. Page setting > Advanced > Place this code For better understanding check out this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/mhiUomEim2wW Remember, it can take time for Google to crawl, process, and index a site after making changes or launching a new domain. Give it a few weeks before expecting any changes to appear. I hope these solutions are helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Best regards, Sifat.
  8. Hi @RobSah, I'm glad to help you. I understand your concern. Below, I've added a few insights that might be helpful: I've searched your website. This folder isn't showing on my search. According to my experience, this happens due to the search intent (I'm not sure). This comes from the navigation menu and most popular pages. You can try to remove them from the navigation. Would you mind applying this on your end and letting me know? I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Sifat
  9. Hi @Maatheew, I'm glad to help you. In Squarespace, we can't do it using any plugin. Follow this step-by-step guide to add FAQ schema to your website: Generate the FAQ schema markup: You can create your FAQ schema using Merkle tools. I personally used it. Before adding the schema, it's crucial to validate it to ensure it’s correctly implemented. You can use rich result test tools. You can add the schema markup to your website by following the steps: Dashboard -> Select Page -> Click Page Edit -> Click Add a Block -> Code. I hope this helps! If you've any queries, please feel free to reach out. Best regards, Sadul Sifat
  10. Hi @Jlamb79, I would be happy to help you. If your website is not being indexed by Google after moving from Weebly to Squarespace, several potential issues need to be troubleshooted. Can you please confirm that on GSC, you are able to see all the data? Can you please share with me the screenshot of google search console and website url? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Sifat
  11. Hi @dougnorrie, I would be glad to help you. Could you please share your website URL with me? This will allow me to help you efficiently. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Sadul Sifat
  12. Hi @jr2, I'm glad to help you when you receive "other errors" related to scripts, images, or fonts on your Squarespace website. While not all errors are critical. Google Search Console's all notifications are not an issue. Google want to let you know about it. Thank you, @Collaborada, for Sharing helpful resources here. Best Wishes, Sadul Sifat
  13. Hi @rebeccastrom, Thank you for getting back to me. To ensure that your 301 redirects are functioning correctly when both old and new domains, follow these steps: Manual Testing: Open a web browser and enter the URL of the old domain. Ensure that it redirects to the corresponding URL on the new domain. Repeat this for multiple pages to verify that all redirects are working. Use Online Redirect Checkers: Utilize tools like httpstatus.io, Redirect Checker. Enter the URL of the old domain and check the response headers to confirm a 301 redirect. If you've any further questions, feel free to ask! Best regards, Sifat
  14. Hi @rebeccastrom, I'm glad to help you. You've taken the right steps to change your domain while minimizing SEO impact: Connected the new domain and made it primary in Squarespace. Kept the old domain connected and redirecting to the new one. A temporary drop in rankings and visibility is normal. Here's why: Google needs time to recrawl and reindex your pages on the new domain, which can take several weeks to months. Existing backlinks need to be updated to point to the new domain. My Recommendation: Ensure all 301 redirects from the old domain to the new domain are working properly. Double check on this. Be patient and allow a few weeks for Google to process the change. Monitor performance in Google Search Console. Request sites linking to the old domain to update links and update your internal linking. Continue publishing high-quality, relevant content to build authority. I hope your rankings will recover and improve over time. Let me know if you have any questions! Best regards, Sadul Sifat
  15. Hi @sandrakeus, I'm glad to share my insights with you. The page title, which appears in the browser tab, is indeed important for both user experience and SEO. It serves as a key element in how your webpage is presented to users and search engines. Your title should accurately describe the page's content. You can include your primary keyword. Avoid vague titles; instead, be specific about what users will find when they click through. Aim for a length of about 50-60 characters. This length is generally sufficient to convey the essence of the page without being truncated in search results. Ensure that each page on your website has a unique title. This helps prevent confusion for both users and search engines, allowing each page to stand out in search results. I hope this helps! If you've any further questions, feel free to ask. Thanks, Sadul Sifat
