  1. Site URL: https://www.frankkukla.com/ Thank you for taking any time to reply. Is there any way to darken the background behind text placed over an image. It would be great if I didn't have to darken the entire photo/background and could just darken the area behind the text. Frank

    Social Sharing on 7.1

Hi Susana - thank you for replying here. I contacted support via chat today and asked if they would kindly pass this on to development. I currently have to use an outside source to add share buttons and it would be great if this could be done within Squarespace.
  3. Site URL: https://www.frankkukla.com/blog Does anyone who reads this know how to make the date of a blog post appear above the photo with the title and read more link appearing directly under the photo? Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    Social Sharing on 7.1

We need share buttons for our blog to help get the word out as we're a small nonprofit organization and I'm bummed that I had to use a 3rd party service for something so basic and included with every other platform. If anyone from Squarespace reads this, please submit a feature request that enables social sharing of blog posts - thanks.
  5. Yes, but that looks like the mobile fall back image that we're using and not the video.
  6. It appears that this does work for desktops but the mobile fallback image will still pop up first when viewing on mobile devices. If anyone comes across this and has a solution, thank you for taking the time to post it here.
  7. It would be great if there was a way to apply a dark overlay to just the text when using video as a background image. I know that you can apply an overlay to the entire video background, but doing that can often make the video too dark. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Thank you for taking the time to reply.
  8. Hi Tuanphan - the video is currently on the home page www.maslowproject.com but I couldn't find a way to change the focal point for a background video on mobile devices using Squarespace. Thank you for taking the time to reply to this question.
  9. Hi tuanphan - thanks so much for taking the time to reply and provide this. I will give it a try and reply back.
  10. Hi Tuanphan - thank you so much for replying. Ideally, it would be good if we could move the donate button where it's indicated in the attachment. You have helped so many people here, thanks for responding. Best, Frank
  11. I think I found a solution so wanted to post it in the event you come across this and it helps. <style> @media screen and (min-width:992px) { #page section:first-child img { visibility: hidden; } } </style>
  12. I wanted to post what I think has worked in the event that it helps anyone else that was looking for a solution to this. <style> @media screen and (min-width:992px) { #page section:first-child img { visibility: hidden; } } </style>
  13. Site URL: https://www.maslowproject.com/ Has anyone figured out a work-around to move the button in the header to another position besides the far right of the header? Usually, I'd like it there, but need to use a translation icon in the top right of the page which covers the button and I'm unable to move the button. Thanks for taking the time to answer about any solutions you have found for this. Best, Frank
  14. Site URL: https://www.maslowproject.com/ Is there any way that Squarespace users have been able to upload or embed a video directly versus having to link to a YouTube/Vimeo video? Doing this will prevent the mobile fallback image showing up before the video on desktop and also allow the video to be shown across mobile devices versus having to use a mobile fallback image. I was bummed to see that Wix offers this feature and it seems to work well, but it can't be done with Squarespace. If anyone has found a work-around for this, thanks for taking the time to reply. Best, Frank
  15. Site URL: https://www.maslowproject.com/ Hi, We are using a video background for our homepage (hosted on Vimeo) and when it shows up on mobile devices, it looks awkward. Is there any way to adjust the focal point of the video background like we can currently do with a mobile fallback image? If you have found a workaround for this, thanks for taking the time to reply. Best, Frank
