Hey y’all!
I have a question about my site regarding the functionality of my anchor links, especially when viewed on a phone.
My site is a one-page scroll with a solid amount of content on it. I believe the anchors are correctly coded for the most part, but unfortunately the anchor links aren’t functioning perfectly.
When I open my site and click the last link in my menu, “Contact,” for instance, it doesn’t scroll to “Contact.” It will scroll to the middle of the section above it, or maybe somewhere else. My instinct is that it’s because my site isn’t loading fast enough. The anchor link is trying to scroll to a place on the site that hasn’t yet loaded, and it can’t.
Is there any fix to this? I’m not sure if maybe there’s a way to make a site load all of the site at once, or not display the site until it’s entirely loaded? How can I improve the functionality!?
Any help would be so amazing, thanks! It’s messed up on my desktop and the computer.
Full Disclosure: My site has some NSFW material. It’s mild nudity, all artistic, nothing too crazy!
What's the URL so we can check?

If I have a non-linked page where people can download a PDF, or watch a Masterclass, is there a way to create a password for that page so that only people with the password can access the page? For example my page: www.adagonzalez.com/communication-program-1
For the page you want hover over it in the pages list on the left and you'll see a gear icon. Click on that and go to General. Scroll down on the right until you see Password, it's right under Enable Page. Set a password and save.
It looks like you're doing a course. Have you checked out Members areas? Might be a better solution for ya. Here's info on that. https://www.squarespace.com/ecommerce/membership-sites

I am appalled that Squarespace is (or at least seems to be) so complicated. I used to use Blogspot in 2007 and there was no need to take a training course. You just played with it and taught yourself. I have avoided using Word Press because I read that it is a higher learning curve than SS. Really? I chose SS because I am a non-techie, a *writer and photographer* with a camera on automatic! I write. I am not interested in fancy website design. But I have to be in control of content, not giving it up to Google. Just give me something barebones enough to start a basic text-based website without a lot of bell and whistles.
I have a free two-week trial and can't figure out the most basic thing such as how to add a photo or change the template. Now I see that it is impossible to change templates at this stage. Maybe it is impossible to add a photo too. Blogger never made it so difficult. Now, it is true that I am almost 70 and have zero talent or interest in computers beyond it being a fancy word processor and layout assistant for a limited number of design options. But this is ridiculous. My associate tells me that SS changed some fundamental and it totally fouled up her business website. My guess is it was the change from 7.0 to 7.1.
Is there a way to chose 7.0 instead? I don't like being part of an experiment. Please return to what has stood the test of time.
You can start a new trial site on a 7.0 template by going to this link https://www.squarespace.com/templates/browse/v7

Wow, thank you. What a legend.
You’re welcome 🙂

@SellWellThis is a glitch that happens at times. You can open the editor in a different browser which will probably fix it or clear your cache in the one you are using. I also find that logging out and back in helps.

My website is https://www.specialyoga.co.uk/
I'd like to create a page that can act as a landing page with no header navigation, so peeps have to use the links I create on the page. I want the links to remain throughout the rest of the site, it's just this one page I want it to effect.
Is this possible, and if so how do I do it?Add a code block anywhere on the page just NOT in the footer. Add the code below to the code block and save.
<style> .header, #footer-sections{ display:none !important; } </style>

Possibly, that I am not sure off yet, but possibly - yes.
My main thing is to adjust the grid - so I can place images that way 🙂 Looking for some video tutorials ahhhh
Thank you for any suggestions, tips.
I see if I can find some custom code that will get the text to stay similar to the example. The good thing about fluid engine is that you can put images almost anywhere. I have some things to take care of but I will see what I can find.

Thank you so so much! I currently only have a "holding page" so I kind of need to do it from scratch.
But I am aiming for this (images around like a scrapbook - journal - various sizes but images touching edges of a full screen) Doable?
https://yarronfelder.com/ - doable?
Is there a way to set up grid to the edges? Also where do you adjust the grid?
That's doable. 🙂 Did you want the pined text like on that site?

@Anna_Pavlovna If you'd like to share your site url I can maybe take a look and see if I have any suggestions for rebuilding on 7.1.

It looks like you may have set up the trial on a different email/Squarespace account. The good thing is you can set up as many trials as you want on your existing Squarespace account that you have been working with.
Make sure that you are logged in to the account you want to work with, and in the upper right-hand corner click on Create Website. You can pick any layout that you think will work and go from there. 7.1 doesn't have templates per say, it's just the base with different demo content and when you strip it all out it's the same underneath.
-
That template is not a 7.1 template which is what you need to use fluid engine. If you like the layout you’ll have to attempt to redesign the setup on 7.1.
At this time there isn’t a way to do a direct transfer. -

Does anyone know when "not so distant future" is?
I have issue with Subscribers. I have just created my page and started to test functionality and really don't want to leave xxxxx users into my list. And without proper management tools I can't launch the page because GDPR regulations.
How can I delete Subscribers? From /config/profiles/all menu I can't find the Trash button. I can opt out them but they are still in the list. I want to remove them completely.
I haven't heard about anything in the pipeline yet.

Thank you.
You will need to copy and paste the content of that page into a new blog post.

I can check to see if it's a glitch on your end if you want to share your site. Also, clear your cache and see if that changes anything.

Definitely not what I was asking. All Squarespace sites, when you start a new one, are assigned a generic "built-in-domain". You can change that domain title to something that isn't generic to make it easier to share out with a password so clients can see the site before a service plan has been paid for.
Example: The site I created earlier, had the built-in-domain buffalo-plums-xrnzs.squarespace.com, I am guessing it was some sort of bug because I have since been able to change it to thehseu.squarespace.com and set it to a private page with a password for the client to be able to see it.
I wasn't trying to connect a custom domain from a third-party provider...Glad to see you got it sorted. Just in case you run into it again, the first thing I always suggest trying is clearing the cache of the browser you are using. If that doesn't work, trying a different browser usually solves it.

This is amazing! Any plans to make your plugins work with the personal plan?

RE: SisterScene.net
My credit card, auto-renew status lapsed during phase of my mother's death. When I re-created the link, the system refused the original .org for my domain sisterscene.org.
Also want to claim my name with domain .org for email and launch my first email campaign.
Can you help?
I just checked and the .org name is available and shows 20/year to purchase it. It may have just not been released when you tried.
I used the Squarespace domain name search tool to find it. I personally buy my domains through Squarespace because it's easiest for me, but it should be good to go no matter where you get it if you purchase it soon so nobody else gets it.

@sebastiangier While it won't do it automatically for you and I'm sure there will be some adjusting, there is a plugin/tool that may make it easier. It is a paid too though.

Hi, I am building my site.
But I have some videos that I want to share about a tool I am working on. I want them to be aside from my main site. So like a landing page with some branding and the videos I have screen recorded etc.
I currently have my site half built and my own domain.
How Can I make a second site apart from my main site. I don't want whoever is going to look at the videos to navigate to my main unfinished site?
How do I do it and I do not want to buy another domain.
Thanks!
There's a couple ways to do this. You can put all the links that you are working on in the Unlinked section of the site and continue to build them. When I do this I go in to each page and disable it until it's ready to go live. When I'm ready for that I move them up to the main navigation section and enable it.
For the page that you want to share with people, have it be the only page in the main navigation section and then share that.
Another way to do it is with Unfold which is a Squarespace product. You can use the Bio Site feature in Unfold which is available on the free tier of the app. Here's a link to read about the bio sites https://www.squarespace.com/marketing/biosite

I'm having the same problem, and the email addresses added to the list were done through the mailing list form on our site, so they should be receiving the automation emails! I've done tests with three different email accounts but to no avail. Very frustrating!
Double check the automation is connected to a list and not in draft mode. I've gone in to edit mine in the past and not reactivated it.
If it's still an issue contact support and have them make sure the sending email isn't on a blacklist and causing a problem.

I'm setting up a new site, haven't published yet. The instagram social link in my header connects to the SS instagram. I can see how to add another social link to my own IG but I can't figure out how to delete the link to the SS IG. Advice?
You should be able to change that by going to Settings, Social Links and entering your own and deleting any that are in the template.
