Hi all! I’m Alicia, a product designer on a team at Squarespace focused on helping sellers succeed across different sales channels. As part of our work, we want to better understand how users are finding success or challenges with e-commerce and SEO on our platform. I thought posting here could be a good way to connect with some of you, and learn about pain points we can address in future updates.

Your self perceived level of knowledge on SEO (specifically SEO knowledge pertaining to e-commerce, rather than general SEO for a website) What goals do you have for your shop’s performance? What SEO tactics have you tried to help with your shop performance? How did it go? How do you measure progress towards your goals? If you’re looking at data, what are you looking at, and do you use any third party tools?

Hi all! I'm trying to make a gallery like this website https://jasonhan.com/
For the videos displayed, I love that it shows all videos, and then when you toggle between commercial, narrative, and music video it doesn't load a new page but the boxes shift instead.
Is there a best feature to do this in squarespace? Apologies if it's obvious an I've missed it in the forums/templates. Thanks!

Paul, I purchased the Universal Filter and was unable to figure out how to put it in my page.  I was unable to get support from Squarewebsites on the filter.  I currently have everything under a category for product type and a sub category for scent collection.  I was hoping someone on here had a clue about filters because I can not find assistance anywhere.

You can add categories to filter by category, but for a proper sort and filter solution you need extensive code or a pre-built plugin. Squarewebsites sell a Squarespace Plugin called Universal Filter that does this very well.

I am using the awesome Universal Filter provided by Squarewebsites and it works fantastically.
However, I just need to make a slight tweak.
Is there a way to have one of the options already active on a page load?
Just as an example, is it possible to have the 'Slender tag' already selected with the summary block already displaying the results.

Hi all, 
I'm wondering if on the category page (i.e. Dance) I can display sub categories or tags which will then filter the blog posts. Similar to this website https://pointemagazine.com/category/cross-training, they have the category Health & Body and then sub-categories 'ask amy', 'higher ed', 'view all', etc...
Is this possible with Squarespace, will I need custom code? 
I know I can add an archive blog with tags or categories but those will be tags across all the categories. I'd like them to be on the category page and then filter by the three sub-categories. 

On Squarespace you can set categories on a blog page and filter by them using category links. I'm not sure what you mean by "sub-categories" because blog pages don't have nested categories. Blog categories are all "top-level" categories and you can only filter by one category at once.
There's a third party plugin called Universal Filter that improves filtering but this may only be necessary if you want to filter by several categories at the same time.
If you have further questions then I recommend that you share your site with us (you'll need to set a public password and share it with us) so that we can see which version you are using (7.0 or 7.1) and how it is configured.

We are using Squarewebsite's Universal Filter. If you click on the "Region" dropdown, it has three choices. These are by default alphabetized, but we would like to reorder them differently. Would anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance if you do.

Try this Filter Plugin. You can create filter features, support both Gallery Page, Portfolio Page, Blog Page, Product Page, Summary Blocks. 
You can also use it to add search, sorf by Price/Alphabetically,...

You can achieve with Universal Filter Plugin, it supports Gallery Section (a bit expensive)
An another approach is Create multiple pages, one for each category: 90's, 00... Then add a text link list to the top of the gallery. When clicking on each text link, it will go to the page containing the corresponding gallery.

First thanks for helping me out. I just need some help copying my existing website and paste on to a new website. I have an existing website (angelsmonitoringnewhave.com) that is working good for me. Now I want to use the same website in another city and just change the location info. I have been able to duplicate the page but can't find out how to paste it on to the new site. It creates a duplicate page but makes it a trial. I already signed up for a new page for the new site.

Unfortunately, there's not a way within Squarespace to duplicate just one page from one site to another. 
You can either rebuild the page on the new site OR you can use a third party (paid) solution like https://www.squarewebsites.org/squarespacewebsites-tools-extension-pro that allows you to move pages between sites.
