tiffanylea3490
Site URL: https://www.toastoklahoma.com/ Hey there, my site shows a MASSIVE influx of "unique visitors" on Monday, but it doesn't make any sense to me. I attached screen grabs of the analytic data -- does anyone know why this would happen? It seems like some sort of spammy thing, but I still can't understand why? Some highlights from the attached: 202 unique visitors, 198 of which hit at 8 PM. We typically get between 1 and 5 unique visitors a day. Visitors are pretty evenly split between three browsers -- Firefox, Edge, and Chrome. 194 visitors are from Canada. I don't know any reason we would have a spike there. 199 visits with a direct traffic source. Popular content is also pretty spread out across the site. Anyone know what's up? Link to comment
Guest
I've been getting the same for just over a year now. Every few months, and always from Canada! I've never even been there! Beauharnois, Montreal, and Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Very strange indeed. Link to comment
Susana_SQSP
Hey @tiffanylea3490 and @DoubleAPhotography, You may want to contact Squarespace Customer Support so they can take a closer look into this and eventually share more insight about why this may be happening. @DoubleAPhotography While contacting customer support, any additional specific details and screenshots would be very helpful. Thanks! Link to comment
kaylafickphotography
Did anyone get an answer to this? I just got a traffic spike from the above listed cities in Canada. Someone also tried to log into my email the night before so I’m kinda freaked out. Link to comment

It wouldn't hurt to change your passwords for email and your site. I prefer dice phrase passwords. See The Diceware Passphrase Home Page. Find my contributions useful? Florian
Hello. It definitely looks like bots crawling your website or spam. Here is an article to know more about it: https://carloseo.com/unnatural-direct-traffic-google-analytics/ Florian Zellweger florianzellweger.ch — florianzellweger.com influenz.design — janvier.black — ivoire.black Link to comment
