miller.nw
What is the best way to display a RSS feed from my Facebook Fan Page on my website? Should I drop the RSS feed into a Code Block? If so how should I format it? Link to comment
foleyatwork
There are a few different ways to do this. By far the easiest is to use one of Facebook's social plugins: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/ (Like Box does what you're looking for, I think.) Those will generate code for you and all you have to do is paste it into the Code Block in Squarespace. Developer Evangelist at Squarespace. Link to comment
miller.nw
@foleyatwork thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. :) Link to comment
january
The activity feed feature is now depreciated: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/activity Is there any solution for incorporating this feature? Link to comment
sonnyonbass
Do this: https://developers.facebook.com/products/social-plugins there you will find anything you need. From like buttons to a complete Page feed. The developer page is buggy with adblockers installed so beware. Complete FB feed: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin Press: Get code. Paste first part of the code in advanced part of main page! Not the page where you want the feed to show. Go to page where you want the page. Add an "embed" block. Not a code block! On the "embed" pop-up click the </> sign and paste the 2nd part of the code. "apply" and save the page and voila! Link to comment
vallamarre
@sonnyonbass I did it, it seem to work, because there the name of the business appears at the place where I infected the code, but the feed doesn't appear ! I did a couple of refreshes and nothing! Do you know why ? thank you Link to comment
sonnyonbass
Did you put 2 different types of code in 2 different places? (main page and the other code on the page itself?)Did you use the embed block and NOT the "code block"? Link to comment
POWrPilar
The POWr Facebook Feed is another great option for this. It shows your posts in a beautiful gallery: Facebook Feed An awesome bonus is that you can add other social feeds (Pinterest, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) to the same gallery. We have a tutorial for how you can add this plugin to a Squarespace site here: https://www.powr.io/tutorials/how-to-add-facebook-feed-plugin-to-your-squarespace-site Link to comment
sonnyonbass
Yes. But it is a paid option. You're simply advertising. Link to comment
POWrPilar
Hey Sonny! Our Facebook Feed is also available as a free version. No need to upgrade if you don't wish to :) Link to comment
hellothisisjeff
I am using the POWr Facebook Feed (free version) on my site, but it is flipping out on mobile and tablet views (iOS)... basically flashing uncontrollably. Any ideas why? Link to comment
POWrPilar
Hey Jeff, can you shoot us an email at support@powr.io with the link to your website so we can help you out with this? This should not be happening, so we'd love to take a look. Thanks! Link to comment
trinisweetea
@sonnyonbass Your instructions say to post code one into advanced portion of main page. But what if the site is only one page? Main site is the same as where comments plugin will be?Also I am using the embed block but I am getting "Unable to resolve URL."Thanks in advance. Link to comment
fuzzykit
@sonnyonbass Thanks for the detailed steps. I have one question. Currently, I have a javascript that I'm using for the video on my main banner (please find it attached). I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have 2 different scripts. Any advice you can provide? Thanks in advance! custom-script-video-banner.txt Link to comment
AndrewSqrspc
Hello everyone, Many of the solutions above don’t work, or are very outdated and misleading. There are lots of recent high quality products that work with Facebook. For example, you can check out this online demo to feel the difference in comparison with the old widgets: https://elfsight.com/facebook-feed-widget/ . The installation of any widget consists of the following points: Confugre a Facebook Feed for yourwebsite; Get the code; Install the code to a page or to thewebsite’s theme. Find out more in this tutorial: https://elfsight.com/help/how-to-add-facebook-feed-to-squarespace/ (it’s a tutorial specifically for Squarespace websites). Link to comment
JTeich
This looked great, but doesn't seem to be working for me. Is this perhaps because your suggestion is a few years old and things have changed? Thanks Link to comment
yellowsharpie
Would any of these also work with Facebook Group feeds? Thanks Link to comment
