How do I set up email on another platform with SS domain?

Hi!

I recently set up a website and bought a squarespace domain, and would now like to set up a business email using the same domain name e.g. hello@domain.com

However cheaper websites to set up email like BlueHost etc. don't seem to let me do so because the domain already has been taken (because I bought it through squarespace.) I know squarespace offer their own email but its not something I can afford at the moment sadly.

I would be so grateful for any advice, I'm a complete newbie to this!

If SS is where you obtained the domain, then G-Suite is really the only way to go to get an @domain.com email address. There is a cost after a year I think. That's the way it used to be anyway. I had one for awhile but just use @gmail.com now.

I mean another option is Outlook if you are not able to use G Suite. You would then need to add MX records to the Squarespace Domain:

You get the MX records from Outlook and add them.
