Squarespace doesn't have a way of generating QR codes. Selling tickets that contain QR codes is a specialised area and there are a number of third-party ticketing solutions that do this really well. Have you looked at any of these:

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response. The use case is that I want to sell tickets for an event, emailing a unique barcode or qr code to the customer at the time of purchase. On the day of the event i would then verify the purchase by scanning the code on the ticket, ensuring that a legitimate purchase was made. I hope this makes sense.

Cheers

Jack

Hey all,

Maybe a question for a future release or something that's being worked towards but I wanted to enquire about Email receipts.  I see in the Commerce > Customer Notification > General orders there is a list:

> Order Confirmed
> Order Fulfilled
> Order Refunded
> Digital Downloads

I wonder if there's any intention to build a email template tailored towards events (like there is for digital downloads)? I have a client who wants to use QR codes sent with the email order confirmation as a way to verify the purchase at the event entry. Does anyone know a way to make this happen outside the existing framework of Squarespace? Or, alternatively is there any plan to include this kind of functionality within Squarespace?

Look forward to hearing if anyone can help out here!

All the best,
Asa

Commenting on this post in the hopes that there will be an answer in the future. Have a prospective client who wants to sell event tickets through Squarespace but the confirmation code (qr scan) is something that they are asking about. On shoestring budgets and resources, it would be great if Squarespace could add this to their product commerce platform.

I run a boutique cinema and would love the qr code functionality so that when customers arrive with their email confirmation i could scan the email and have their details come up somehow. I can't imagine the logistics of the details coming up but would love the functionality for my customers

Scanning a QR code with the order details means that I can verify an order is real and not a forgery, and also show me the most pertinent details for the purpose of an onsite event. In our case that would be celebrity photo ops (as well as additional purchase upgrades such as digital copies or extra prints). It makes sense for everyone on this thread. That's why we're asking for it. It doesn't have to make sense to you to be a valid request.
