Nesting a folder within a folder

I want to create a folder within a folder for the navigation menu. This is not possible within Squarespace's normal tools, so I am looking for a solution using code. As you can see in the below screenshot, we have 9 selection options under Field Guide currently. I want to recategorize these under 2 sub-folders.

I want to change this to 2 options: "The Northeast" and "The South" and then categorize each of the 9 regions under one of these 2 categories. When someone hovers over "The South" for example, it should display "Big Bend Country" and "Texas Hill Country" to the right.

The hierarchy is:

>Field Guide

     >The Northeast

          >Hudson Valley

          >Catskills

          >Poconos

          >Adirondacks

          >Vermont

          >Maine

          >Finger Lakes

     >The South

          >Big Bend Country

          >Texas Hill Country

Many folks here have used this inexpensive plug in to create folders in folders (nested folders or Mega Menu) This works with 7.1 and the Brine Family in 7.0

You can also consider split folder to multi columns with code. If you want to do this, just share site url, we can give the code

Under the Field Guide menu, the first column should only include "The Northeast" and "The South".

When someone hovers over The Northeast, a second column should appear to the right including:

When someone hovers over The South, a second column should appear to the right including:
