Customize order confirmation email by product

Hello - I am working on a site for a client and I need to send a specific link based on what a user purchases. The workaround I've done for this in the past was to make these digital products, and have a download with the link, but that is pretty hack-y and I would prefer to just be able to say "if user purchases x product, send them x URL"

Has anyone done anything similar?

I want to send a slightly different order conformation email for each item in my product range - all of which are physical products, so the new solution doesn't appear to solve my issue. 

Is there a workaround?

You cannot do this with order notification emails.

However, you may want to look at Squarespace Campaigns. Although this is an additional cost feature, customer activity automations can be triggered by customers purchasing specific products.

Hi again Paul, 

Can you elaborate on how I can go about using Campaigns to send customers specific order confirmation emails? I want to do this for Service products, which I have set up as a separate store (Physical products in Online Store, Services in Courses & Membership https://www.midastouch.ie/)
