Form-Field-Text color and background

How do I make the form-field-text in a contact form/newsletter form a different color than black. I changed all the background colors to black, this has made all the form-field-text disappear in the background.
I also want the form-field backgrounds to stay black, now while typing it turns to white. 
 Can anyone help me?

Hey @SolveigTraeet  😀 If you are using the built in newsletter bock for squarespace, this code will change the color of the "input text" 

.sqs-block-newsletter input {color:red!important}

And this code will change that placeholder text that says "email address"

.newsletter-form-field-element::placeholder {color:red!important}

Just change red in the example above to the color name or color code you want to see. Hope that helps; let me know how it goes!

Can you help me fix this (so that the form field stays black), can I also make the appearing pop-up list be black, with other text color, so it matches my site?

This happens both on my newsletter form and my contactform.

@tuanphan Yes I need help, as the picture above shows, when I type it is ok, but when I choose an email/name from the white pop up list, my form fields turn white. Can you help?

I also want the pop up list to be black, with different text color.

I just checked again. I think it is a feature of browser. You can't edit it.
