Gallery Slideshow to open in Lightbox at click

Hi is there any tweak to make images in a slideshow to open in a lightbox at click? The option is only available on the grid layout on my template (VOW)

I think this problem is difficult. But I can take a look.

Did you find a solution to this ?  - Im looking for a way to do the same

I'm also looking to do the same. It's not so essential for desktop/tablet, but for mobile devices especially, it would be great.

*edit: I've changed the summary type to grid for the moment, to enable to use of lightbox until this is solved.

I found a work around.

"Link the slideshow to a new page with gallery block, with lightbox."

1. Upload the content you want to lightbox in a new gallerblock page. (non linked page of course)

2. Add the lightbox feature in this galleryblock and hit save and see the preview of the lightbox. Copy this URL (from the opened lightbox window) and paste it in the desired link button on the slide show. BOOM

now you have lightbox connected with the slideshow. hehe 🙂 

Its a messy workaround beacuse you have to upload the same content twice 😞

I'd also like to see Squarespace add the Lightbox option(s) to the other designs (ie. Slideshow, Carousel, Stacked). The workaround above is clever, but not very simple to implement or maintain. Also, why is the "Show description on hover" option not available on all designs either? It seems like a pass reconciling the various unnecessarily unique gallery options is past due.

You can enable lightbox for Squarespace slideshow using Lightbox Studio plugin, in addition to the Grid layout, Lightbox Studio also supports Slideshow blocks, Slideshow sections, and Auto Layouts out of the box
