I have been searching the forum for days and trying the code that's been suggested but I just can't seem to make the HOME page header font size h2 (4.2rem) on the mobile and h1 (6.5rem) size on desktop.

Hi, you mean this text in the screenshot?

    image.thumb.png.5d8de3a56291a4dc4f1435386f077f2c.png

The code you are using is targeting h1. The text in your hero section is h2.

    {h1 {font-size:4.2rem!important} }

the result is not what i expected after i put the code block with my customize code with the closing </div> you gave me in my homepage what should i do?

Where did you get your code from? As Ziggy already pointed out 1 error in your code, I would suggest asking the author or any developer to check that the code is fully functioning as expected before investigating further.

  3. Hi @NinaTailles I like the layout of your homepage, simple and sleek.

I have noticed as I scroll down the page, the content appear slowly. Have you tried setting the animation to the next setting up?

In your publications section on your homepage, the links don't seem to work. Instead of linking to the full address like this https://pug-orb-f2ba.squarespace.com/work/tag/The+Washington+Post, you should link with "/work/tag/The+Washington+Post" as an example.

It must be something with the CSS selector idk.

You are right. You can check the CSS selector from the Inspect tool.

Here is what I see for your contact form. You have selectors for .form-wrapper and .field-list, then you need to target relevant ones to apply your CSS styling to. I have highlighted the ones that you seem to want to target.

  5. Hi @ggimishev 1st thing I notice is that your font-family names are not the same.

In @font-face where you have loaded your font file, you called it TabletGothic.

In the following CSS, you called it TradeGothic.

Try aligning those and see if it helps.

I have a guide on Top 5 reasons why custom font is not working in SquareSpace. Not matching font-family is #1. If that doesn't work, try working through the rest of the guide to see if it helps.

Let me know how it goes.

...and I see the duplicate icon. When I click on that, it simply duplicates the exact content on that same page. That is not what I want to do. Seems odd that I cannot automatically have the same email sign-up form on multiple pages without have to rebuild each one from scratch every time.

Hi @MJB1923 Did you try "saved section" as suggested by @creedon?

If not, you can try just copy and pasting the form block. I can do this with CTRL+C, CTRL+V.

  7. 6 hours ago, vocochoirs said:

Actually, that only gives me the option to duplicate.  Once duplicated I can move the duplicated portion front to back, but not the text from front to back.

Click on the third icon from the left. The one that's a solid square in front of a dotted square. If you hover on that, it should say something like "bring forward". Likewise, the 4th one is "send backwards".

When I first load the page, the image and text section jumps forward - it appears to load the picture once, and then zoom in slightly, causing the text to shift as well. I've added a short clip to show what I mean.

Hi, looks like you are using a plugin as the carousel. Have you tried contacting the author?

I don't think you understood my issue. When I switch from desktop to mobile, each block has several rows empty. Then I need to manually shrink them.

Hi, have you tried editing the mobile view to adjust to your desired layout? Try that and see if it resolves your issue.

If it's a different issue, please provide some screenshots to better show what problems you are having.

Cheers @melody495 (ps love your footer "You Dream It, I'll Make it happen"😊 I love helping people - AND solving problems; except when they're my own & I'm stuck!)

Thank you 😊 And of course! No one can know everything, we all get stuck sometimes.

The websites you linked, they are both using third party plugins. Those forms are codes from their respective plugins. one is mailer lite, the other is convert kit.

Found I'm on the business plan

Great! With business plan, you can use code injection as described in the post I linked above. Try the code in that post and it should work! Let me know how it goes.

It shouldn't work because although you can add a redirect, the txt file will be downloaded from Squarespace, whereas it needs to be displayed within the browser.

Did you test it with a service like https://adstxt.guru/validator/?

Hi @paul2009, thank you for sharing this. I've not used this validator before, the results seem to check out, can you confirm if the below looks ok to you?

Wait for Google to find the file and remove the warning. This doesn't happen instantaneously. I have no clue what Google's usual turnaround time for finding the file and removing the warning are. I make no guarantees that this will work for you.

Are people still having trouble with SS blogging/indexing on Google, or is this fixed with SS and I'm missing a trick here? Would appreciate any expertise!

Hi @HayleyTitheradge I don't have issues indexing my blog posts. I only have a handful of them so far!

The 1st one took about 2 weeks to be indexed. The 2nd one looks to be only a few days. They third one hasn't made it through yet!

I manually requested index on each page after they're published. Have you tried doing this?

In terms of backlinks, I really don't have any yet. I went through and did all the SEO things I could currently. 🙏

This is a display font (that's how it's listed in the Styles > Fonts section of the style editor).

Hi @KevinInChicago responding to your DM, I believe SquareSpace only loads the 2 font family that you have selected as your heading and paragraphs. (Can you imagine, that is a lot of font files!)
So if you want to use a third font family, then you will have to treat it as a custom font.

The video you have linked is one way of using Google Font. This import method relies on the font file being hosted and served by Google.

The other method is to upload the font file to your SquareSpace Website. Via the usual method of @font-face etc. Here you can find my Beginner's Guide to Custom Font.

The pros and cons can be down to speed, although I haven't compared them myself! I prefer having control over my custom code, so I would normally upload my own font file even when it's a Google Font. But that's just my preference 🙂

    Hope this helps.

@melody495 Thank you for your feedback. Indeed everything is left aligned across all possible form factors, yet somehow it's inconsistent when testing on the actual devices (outside of the SquareSpace backend). Essentially I've done everything possible I know to do to resolve the issue short of hiring an engineer. Thanks again for reaching out!

The Recent Strategy Work section is set to Inset, whereas the Mini Cooper section is set to Full Bleed. Hence the padding difference on left and right.

    image.thumb.png.0723a8a5ac3da9c4d24ee31f79636243.png

Is your Recent Strategy Work section from one of the templates? You can try add a blank section and add the text block, that section should be Full Bleed.

    Hope this helps!
