Glocksocks
Final update here. The 2 test domains never did forward both the root & www. The domain I had the preset squarespace records loaded is still working fine. I went ahead and added the squarespace defaults to the other domains I need to forward and the root & www. started forwarding correctly immediately. There is exactly no logical explanation to this, but, it works. Link to comment
Mike67
Like all of you, I was pulling my hair out with this problem but I solved it! I had been having all of the error message mentioned on my Windows desktop, and I thought I'd try to do this on my wife's Mac. I signed in on the Mac, and it worked the first try. I don't know if I'm lucky or if this will work for everyone else. Link to comment
lucasfixedit
THE WAY TO FIX THIS IS TO JUST LOG OUT OF YOUR SQUARESPACE ACCOUNT, THEN IMMEDIATELY LOG BACK IN AND FORWARD THE DOMAIN. A simple log out and log back in Link to comment

So problem solved. You just have to add the period (".") to the end of "ghs.googlehosted.com." then do the Domain Forwarding from @ to www on your main domain settings page. It took a day for this to start working. Yay! Thank you for this information! I tried adding the "." at the end of "ghs.googlehosted.com", and it gave me an error. I then logged out and back in and tried again - then it worked. I then went back to the forwarding page and tried to create the forwarding rule and it worked! Now I will wait 24-48 hours and see if it really works. Link to comment
