mdreuben Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 My problem with a 2k video on a website isn't the sharpness of the image, it's rather that the entire look is flat - highlights are not clean, and the shadows are muddy. Can anyone offer any suggestions? The video on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/707522094 The video on the website: https://bluedoorcafebakery.com Thanks!

Squarespace adds an overlay to banner images and videos on Pacific family templates. You can remove this in Design > Site Styles. When viewing the page with the video, look for Page Banner: Overlay Color. Let us know how you get on. Was this post helpful? PleaseHelpThomas Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Site URL: https://thomasdepontes.com/portfolio/hawaiipressurewash My videos are becoming so incredibly discolored every time I add them into my website. I heard something about there might be an overlay over the video but I can't find where that would be located. I searched the site style tab for hours and I could not find the correction to make. julesgilleland Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I am having this problem as well and in 7.1 I do not see anywhere to change the Page Banner: Overlay Color I have tried relaoding the video and checking all the colour settings and still looks washed out. https://www.bothygardens.com/ (video is of flowers halfway down the homepage) Hope someone can help Jules
Ryanwhitelawfitness Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 I’ve also been having this same problem and it started out of no where about 6 months ago. When uploading videos from my computer they all appear washed out and the colors are very muted- they look terrible. I contacted Squarespace but there never seemed to be a resolution. The only workaround I was able to figure out is uploading the videos directly from my phone. For some reason this doesn’t distort the quality, but the mobile version is glitchy and slow so it can be time consuming and frustrating. I hope they figure this out as it’s been a year since this being flagged!
m10ki Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I found a solution that works for me: A ".MOV" file would become desaturated apon uploading. When I converted it to ".mp4" the colour remained true to the original file. Beyondspace 1
Emmaol Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Hi, the problem reoccurs for me, especially in the "courses"... is there a way to fix it? Thank you Beyondspace 1
Sarak Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Hello, Did anyone find a solution for this problem? I'm having the same issue and not sure how to fix it. I changed my video to MP4 too but still the video is washed out. Beyondspace 1
