Major issue with my site map!

I have been using Squarespace for about 8 years now for my companies website. About 10 days ago I created a new site for another business I have started. I am 10 days in and my site map has yet to generate. It says

{"message":"Sitemap not yet generated. It will be generated within the next 24 hours."}

I have reached out to customer support twice now and keep telling me the sitemap will generate within 24 hours yet it’s had this message since day one. They even pushed for a manual refresh of the set map on Monday. It is still not generated.  Without the sitemap generated I cannot submit my website to Google for indexing. Please someone help!

I see the same issue on a number of Squarespace sites where the sitemap is now out of date.

We'd love to help, but there's nothing the community can do to resolve this for you.

Sitemaps are usually generated within 24 hours of a site going live. When this doesn't happen, it's usually because of a Squarespace fault, so you've done the right thing by contacting Squarespace Customer Care. If it has been 24 hours since you requested the sitemap refresh then I recommend you contact them again, although I appreciate they will have reduced cover over the next few days.

I dont understand why they would give me the run around thus far if there was something they can do to fix it? They just keep telling me to wait.

Apparently SS is having backend issues. Please Contact Customer Support to report your issue.
