thisisdanielle Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Site URL: https://www.levelstory.net Hi. I use a lot of summary blocks on my website and one thing I would really like to do is have the option to...well, have more options when it comes to organizing these blocks. Ideally I would like to organize by date (from oldest to newest) but there is no option for this and the only resource I have found is a $55 plugin (Lazy Summaries - https://www.squarewebsites.org/products/lazy-summaries). I'm not looking to spend that amount of money for something I will use once or twice. Does anyone know of a code that is cheaper than that, or free, that can allow you to organize a summary block from oldest to newest? Please do not suggest I change the post dates to get around this. I do this when I can but in this instance, I really just need a tool that will do the job I need. Also have to ask, why has Squarespace not implemented this? It feels a bit backwards to have this great website builder but lack basic functions such as this. It is really limiting and makes more work on my end.
Guest Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Same question. Just wanted to bump since there has not been a response.
derricksrandomviews Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Filter by date, but first change the publication date of each post and give the oldest post the newest date. That is how I handled one summary page of mine of photography lessons, I wanted them to show in numerical order which would not work due to the latest one having the latest date. and showing up first, which made the lessons post in reverse order. Changing the date fixed that. I then hid the date because it added nothing to the post itself. https://myrandomviews.com/photography-lessons
Arna Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Agree Squarespace should have a way to define the ordering of summary blocks! Lazy Summaries is a $55 plug-in that lets you do this: https://www.squarewebsites.org/products/lazy-summaries I'm not affiliated with them and haven't tried it yet, but am answering your question above about plug-in options since I've been looking too!
