Making an embedded Google Form Responsive

Recommended Posts

I've embedded a Google Form using a code block and it looks great on desktop, but isn't responsive on mobile. I've tried changing the width to (width="100%") but it doesn't change anything.

It's frustrating because my squarespace site and the google form are both responsive on their own, but having it embedded isn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Please include a link to the form on your site. Your site doesn't need to be live - a link to a trial site (something.squarespace.com) is fine.

I took a quick look and when I tried it the form was responsive - it adjusted in width to match the device. However, the iframe was shorter in height than the form required, so there was some scrolling required within the iframe window - which is not what you want. Is there a reason why you didn't use the Squarespace form?

@Paul2009 Are you looking on an android? I think it’s just not working on iPhone annoyingly. Any ideas on how to resolve that? I didn’t use the Squarespace form because I wanted people to get their responses afterwards, and there didn’t seem to be an automated way to do that. The google form emails them afterwards with their answers.

Ooh, I see what you mean. I'll look at that some more.

This seems to be a documented issue with embedded Google Forms containing images when displayed on iOS (Nov 2017). None of the usual responsive embedding techniques appear to fix it.

If it helps, Squarespace forms can be used with Zapier and GSuite to automate responses to visitors. Send the form response to a Google Sheet and configure Zapier to fire an email when a new row is added.

Let me know if this helps.
