Sold Out labels not showing in drop-down menu

I've toggled to "on" for the option to show out of stock labels in my product variant drop-down menu but it's still not showing. When you click on the drop-down menu it shows all sizes and only gives you a "sold out" label after you've chosen the size variant.

This wasn't working on my site either, but I just realized that it works if I don't have waitlists turned on. When I turn them on the drop down text disappears. Hopefully that's helpful and it can be fixed!
