SQUARESPACE UX team, you really need to start to consider making portfolio project be "catagorizable"

Recommended Posts

I've recently suggested one of my client to use Squarespace as their architect agency website and the site is almost finished; however, it's a quite painful when it comes to creating projects for different categories. Especially when my client has projects in four categories.

  • Architecture
  • Interior Design
  • Landscape
  • In Process

Since the portfolio module is a completely independent module without a categorization nor tag function, what I had to do was to manually create/customize a porftolio page and do the same thing for four times to make the portfolio page categorized.

and since my client has a category called "In process" which they will move it to achitecture or interior design when a project is done. Sadly the project is forbidden to move in such logic. They'll have to redo the same page in other category page.

I admit that it's quite easy to create a stunning portfolio page, but categorization is an often-seen function when it comes to building a portfolio site, so Squarespace... please consider improving this...
