Best low maintenance solution to embed a resumé (.pdf file) on a site? (Sorry, this has to have been asked a million times)

I'm working with a Word resume that I can also export to .pdf.  What is the best practice for a low maintenance way of embedding this in SquareSpace?

Issuu is a little more money than I want to spend to embed a resume.

I am 100% comfortable with HTML or JS solutions, I just don't want to do this by trial and error.

Any suggestions, or links to forum posts?  I searched, but I didn't find anything totally satisfying.

Embed as downloadable file? If so you just make a text link or a button and link it to the file manager which has your pdf stored there.
