SueCerlier
Hi folks! We have a little trouble in finding a way, so I can change the design of the website without being able to change the subscriptions, etc. As a Contributor you aren't able to change the website design/settings As a Administrator you are able to add subscriptions plans, etc. So is there a way round, that I am able to change the design of the website of a colleague without being able to "f*** up" the subscription plans, etc. Thanks for the answer. Squarespace is a 'website builder', and whilst this means that you can produce a professional-looking website very easily without technical knowledge, it does mean that there are some limitations that you'll need to live with. A lack of granular permissions is one of these. A Contributor can add, edit and delete content on any page of the website but they aren't able to access the Design menu and so they can't change the announcement bar or modify styles. The next step up is 'Administrator'. They can do almost anything except transfer the ownership of the site. It isn't possible to improve this situation with code or plugins. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but at least you know the answer. 🙂 Did this help? Please give feedback by clicking an icon below ⬇️ SueCerlier 1 About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. gregaitch
SS Permissions are far too basic and have exactly the implications mentioned above. The only way to provide clients/contributors a practical level of permission (eg publish new pages) is to bestow Administrator permission, complete with billing privileges. It compromises either the service we offer, or forces us to introduce unnecessary business risk. https://forum.squarespace.com/topic/224934-only-an-administrator-can-publish-new-pages-are-sqsp-permission-levels-too-basic/#comment-568477 Link to comment
