ADeHahn Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Is there a way to post comments to a webpage live without using the blog function? I'm trying to create a memorial page where people can leave memories and they will just pop up. I see two ways of doing it, but I don't like either: 1. Create a blog and have people comment underneath 2. Create a form and upload them myself once a day (too much work) Is there a way around this? I appreciate any insight.
derricksrandomviews Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 (edited) You need to create a blog post with no title, edit it and turn off the Metadata, no date, no author and no author profile. Enable comments globally in site settings, and in post settings. Give the post a page name like comments and then you can post that as a link on a button or wherever you want it. It will end up looking like this one on my 7.1 sandbox site password is lookatit https://hibiscus-conch-p8fd.squarespace.com/blog-1/comments Edited February 21, 2022 by derricksrandomviews
ADeHahn Posted February 22, 2022 Author Posted February 22, 2022 Thank you @derricksrandomviews, this is very helpful. Unfortunately, I think my template might be an issue. It's bedford and it might be version 7.0. Do you have any insight with those specifications?
derricksrandomviews Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Same directions work, but the settings, where you get to them, are in a different place. The look will be exactly the same. You may have to create a new blog page in the unlinked section of your site, and put the comments post there. Edited February 22, 2022 by derricksrandomviews
