How to get a product sales breakdown by item variant in Squarespace Analytics?

Whilst the Product sales analytics is useful, does any one know if there is a way to tweak it to display product variants, not just the general product? I.e to be able to see what you have sold in different sizes, small large etc. 

If there is a way of doing this or a work around, I's be very interested to know.

I was just told by Squarespace that they don't currently show variants in the reports, but that they would forward the request to product development.  The work around I used was to go to the Orders page in Commerce and export the orders for the particular product I wanted to excel and then sort/subtotal the variants.  A little clunky, but I got the information I needed.
