melissawatsonellis
I have 426 URL's with a temporary redirect on my site but I never set these up. They seem to be redirect loops. Can you help guide me on how to remove them? Link to comment
creedon
Removing them may not be the best move. If you didn't put them in, was someone else working on your site? Redirects are used to provide a way for search engines to find where content has been moved, to shorten URLs, and etc. Removing them could cause a drop in search engine ranking. If you don't care about that then you can remove the URL redirects. It is certainly possible that the redirects are misconfigured causing unnecessary redirects but many web based systems have safeguards from infinite loops. It would be hard to advise without having inside knowledge of your website structure and what redirects have been set up. You may want to hire a consultant to make sure things are handled correctly.
