How to create two column section

I want to create two columns for different projects on my website. Currently, the way I have done this is by adding a rectangle shape on top of the section to make it look like it's two separate sections - however, it is not responsive on mobile. (Screenshots attached)

I was wondering if there is a way to add two sections that would take up half the screen width and be displayed as columns.

You can add 2 sections, then we can give code to make them side by side on both desktop + mobile
