Does Squarespace limit the number of times a file can actually be downloaded? 

After a digital product is purchased, the customer can download the file from the post-checkout page. They will also receive an email containing a link to the file. Currently, there are no limits on the number of times the file can be downloaded, but the link expires 24 hours after the purchase, preventing the link being shared later.

If a customer clicks an expired link, Squarespace send a new link to the customer's original email address (as specified during purchase), allowing them to download the file again. This link also expires after 24 hours.

Hi, I have the same question. If I sell a digital product like a PDF or Ebook in my Store, does Squarespace encrypt the PDF so it can't be shared to anyone else other than the user who bought the digital product? Thank you!

No, but you could choose to encrypt the PDF before uploading it to Squarespace.

That said, encrypting a PDF doesn't stop it being shared or copied.
