caption captions not being imported during image upload

Sanity check:

- I tried to upload those images with metadata import enabled and the title/description is imported as expected. You can check on this page

This is part of the effort to find a workaround for this issue using Javascript, but it is turns out magically works for me. Can someone please try and confirm?

Hello Everyone;

I modify image metadata (title and description) before uploading them to Squarespace gallery pages. This used to work just fine last year. Here is an example of a gallery I created late last year:

When you hover over the image in the lightbox, you see the correct title and description. I was trying to add a new gallery today and have a couple of issues:

1- Using my previous method, the description is correct when I add a file to a gallery page, but the title shows the filename instead of the title in the image metadata.

2- if I upload the image directly to a folder in the asset library and add it to the gallery, none of the meta data seems to appear.

I have attached a screenshot of the image in the new galley and a screenshot of the image metadata:

This used to work just fine last year for me, so I am puzzled since nothing in my workflow has changed.

I also want to add, i double-checked, and 'image metadata importing' is enabled. this had to be the case, otherwise, the description would also not show up.

I got the following message back from support:

if anyone is using the metadata, it would be good to check to see if new imports are having the same issue as I described.

YEAP!!! it is really super annoying. There are a bunch of bugs like that.

PLEASE fix after 3 years the meta data issues!!!!
It is relevant for ANY ARTIST and PHOTOGRAPHER.

Tired of writing every single month another email and always getting back an email with lame excuses.

All what this platform was standing for is GONE. 
All what was amazing for artists and photographers isn t working properly.

Just to become the other big thing and lacking everything which was great.

You should really think about it.

I've have sent multiple requests for this to be fixed and I always get some sort of a boilerplate response.

Such as:
