How to choose the best template with membership area?

Hello!

I would like to design a site which will include a members-only area.

Does this mean that I need to choose a membership template?

https://www.squarespace.com/templates/browse/topic/all-templates/type/memberships

Further on, do all templates listed under 'membership' tag include a membership area?

Finally, do all of these templates include a 'login' link in horizontal navigation?

Many thanks in advance!

Member Areas is an additional cost option on all templates.

I recommend that you use a Squarespace 7.1 template (any listed under https://www.squarespace.com/templates) but all support this feature. Squarespace 7.0 templates also support it but with some limitations, so isn't recommended for a new Membership based site.

No. They are just some templates that Squarespace recommend due to their design.

The login link can be added to the navigation area in all Squarespace 7.1 templates.

If you are considering Member Areas, I recommend you take a look at my list of Member Areas Limitations before you purchase.

To be clear, I'm not advocating a better alternative, just ensuring you are aware of the limitations before you start as you'll know what you can and can't do. It upsets me when people build 80% of their dream and only then discover that a critical element cannot be built.
