Adding a description under products

Recommended Posts

I’m building a website and I’m wanting to add a description underneath my products in the product page and add a button underneath to say ‘click to find out more’ . At the minute it is only letting me display the price and title with no button underneath it.

it won’t let me do this - does anyone know how to do this ? It’s such a simple function I’m surprised you can’t do it more easily

I’ve attached a photo to show what I mean ( only the title with no description underneath)

I would  really appreciate if someone can tell me how to sort it out !

thanks

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte

Your site is currently private so it's difficult to provide specific advice because we don't know which version or template you are using. To make the site visible to us, please set a public password in the visibility settings and then share this with us.

However, it looks like you are using a Store page to display four products. Store pages are ideal for pages that list hundreds of products, but they are not designed for small numbers of products. To display these, you may want to create a standard page and then manually design your page to include images, text and buttons.

As I say, it's difficult to be specific because I cannot see your site. However, each product will have a unique URL that you can link to, for example it may be /p/silver-sleep-package.

Thanks for the help Paul. I've think i've made my site available if you have my email and i've set a password:

lippylottie@gmail.com

password:sleep

Hopefully that will let you see it

I'm new to this - how do I find the URL for each product?

Thanks for the support

Here's a quick video identifying the URL of the first product (https://shark-apple-r6hb.squarespace.com/sleeppackages/p/silver-sleep-package)

As you are using Squarespace 7.1, you can add an auto-layout list section to display your products. For more details see: Auto layouts in version 7.1. Here's an example of one of the defaults that you can customise:

That's great! I've figured that out!

One last thing is there a way to have more than three prices on one row for the prices  ( the example above you showed has three but i'd like 4
