Tip line at checkout

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://www.threesacksfull.com/checkout?cartToken=iF-10O95PQelEYKFaqFcZ-OorAzflPQ7AEeOdE4k

I run a weekly restaurant Pop-up and our customers order in advance online.  They have asked to be able to provide a tip when they pay, but I can find no provision for adding this feature on the checkout page.  Squarespace must have many clients who provide services and want to be able to have a tip line at checkout.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks,

Matthew

The checkout out page can not be modified. It is a SS security feature. SS is the only one that can add such a feature to the checkout page. You would need to contact customer support and make a feature request.

In the mean time it may be possible to come up with some workarounds. I'm just spitballing here. I don't know how/if these would work in practice.

Create products that are tips. Choose some reasonable fixed amounts. You might want to choose service product types for these. Then add them to the additional info area of each product in a product block. Then with some CSS and/or Javascript you can style. Actually you might be able to get away with just one tip product with a variant menu that has the different tip amounts.

There isn’t a built-in feature for this, and as mentioned above, you couldn’t do this at checkout but it could be coded to appear on the cart page - the page you linked in your question. Only fixed values would be possible, which means that unfortunately it wouldn’t be possible to automatically top-up to the next milestone such as making $16.20 become $20.

Can you explain the tip options (values) that you want to add?

how can I remove the "Tip" option from my Secure Checkout?

In Scheduling:

1. Open the Payment settings panel: Acuity Scheduling | Squarespace Scheduling.

2. Click the Payment Terms drop-down menu to choose how clients pay.

3. To remove the tips option, use the slider to disable Clients can tip extra when they pay in full.

4. Click Save Settings.
